Fantastic Kids Club Team at The Palmar Beach Resort & Spa!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 22 hours ago

Fantastic Kids Club Team at The Palmar Beach Resort & Spa! Our children had an amazing time at the Kids Club at The Palmar Beach Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya, thanks to the incredible team—Elena, Karelya, Fabiola, and Araceli! They are warm, caring, and full of energy, making every day fun and exciting. The arts and crafts activities they plan are creative and engaging, keeping the kids entertained while also inspiring their imagination. Our little ones couldn’t stop talking about how much fun they had! We are so grateful for their dedication and highly recommend them to any family visiting the resort.

Relaxing Girl’s Trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This was our first visit to Palmar Beach Resort and Spa and it did not disappoint! From the friendly and accommodating staff, the lush tropical grounds, delicious (authentic) food, and beautiful pools made our stay heavenly. We tried a different restaurant for dinner each night - best meal at Jinx, but best service was at Zama, thanks to Angelos! The breakfast and lunch buffet had a vast variety and Mateo took great care of us every day. The newly renovated room was impeccably clean (thanks Juanita) as was the entire property. We also enjoyed our spa services. My only suggestion for management would be to invest in key bracelets rather than room key cards which aren’t very convenient to carry with you in the pool.

NO HOT WATER! WORST RESORT!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!! !(sorry this is gonna be long) We visited the resort in January for a wedding and it was so disappointing!!! The day we arrived we got settled in our room which was big but smelt very musty and old. The mini fridge had mold in it and could tell it hadn't been wiped out for a while. We started to walk around and explore and realized a lot of the places were closed. We went to the front desk and asked for a map or a schedule of when things would be open. We did get a schedule but very quickly realized it wasn't accurate and that even though it said things we open they were not. This happened all week, you couldn't just go anywhere for lunch or dinner as only certain restaurants were open certain days and times. We paid the extra money to have a jacuzzi suit, tried to use it our first night and the water smelt SO BAD of sewer! We decided to try and get in anyways and the water was luke warm at best. This continued to be a problem the whole week! NO HOT WATER!!!! Not only could we not use the jacuzzi we paid extra money to have we didn't even have it in the shower! I have very long thick hair so washing my hair in cold water was not at all great! We were continuously told it would be fixed the next day, and it never was. My husband being a master plumber was pretty unnerved as a hotel or restaurant in the states would not be allowed to be open as you CANNOT CLEAN AND SANITIZE the silverware, plates, cooking utensils, glasses and so on... Pretty gross when you think about all the other people there that were using those items and then they were not properly cleaned before someone else is using them! If you like to hang out at night this is also not the place for you! EVERYTHING was closed by 11pm!!! Even on Friday and Saturday night! The dance for the wedding we were attending was over at 10:30 so we all rushed to the bar to try and get a drink and they were already closing down and told us last call. Pretty lame! Room service took 45 minutes even though the resort was basically empty! No alcohol bottles in the room to make cocktails, and nothing around unless you want to take a cab ride a half hour into Cancun. They only had fun "activities" at the pool 1 day, and it was the absolute LAMEST excuse for a foam party ever!!! The beach was full of seaweed and not really taken care of and the water was not the turquoise blue tropical water you think of when you think Mexico, more like brown lake water with waves, again super disappointing! With the beach in the state, it was in we didn't go onto the beach and stayed by the pools. A few days in we were COVERED in mysteries bug bites that we were told were sand fleas, but we never went on the beach. Other people in our group got them all over their bodies after taking a nap on their balcony's and some weren't sure when or where they got them, but we were all covered in bug bites! We were told we could speak to a manager the morning we were leaving but then were told there wasn't one there and that we could fill out a piece of paper with our complaints and a manager would contact us..... it has now been almost two months, and we have not been emailed back or called back. Paying almost $500 a night for this resort was an absolute joke and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!!

One night in paradise.

My flight with WestJet had been cancelled and they put us up at this resort for the night. Even though I didn't get to stay very long, it was a great experience. The staff were amazing. Finding rooms and checking in almost 200 people. The resort was clean and the food was amazing. I will definitely come back to this resort when I can stay a bit longer than one night.
