Sandos Cancun Luxury Resort

Make sure you check your receipt and credit card statement!!!! We used the spa and the amount we were given and we signed for was almost doubled when we looked at the statement! We asked again at check out and she said yes, that is correct. We have tried multiple times to email and call and no one has returned either. We now are working with our bank to see what can be done! Our friends also used the spa and they had the same experience but a different amount! The pools by 3:30 are blocked by another resort but they were very nice otherwise. The buffet was ok but nothing great. Service at the restaurants are not good and they don't seem to have enough staff. While the resort was clean, we would not return nor would I suggest this resort to friends.

Check in was quick and easy. The room key is your bracelet. When we got to the room, I realized they had not asked whether we wanted two double beds or a king. The temperature was comfortable throughout the hotel. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean with a stocked mini fridge and bottled waters. We had a basic room which had a nice view but no balcony. It was older but everything worked fine. Suggested updates would be a chair, deadbolt, outlets for phone chargers and more hangers. The beach was absolutely beautiful, and we did not have to reserve chairs. The waves were strong and there were many seashells. We asked for an umbrella but at the present time they do not have umbrellas on the beach. They do have free Bali beds. We went to the pools to cool off. We are used to more items on the buffet when we travel. We requested omelets and egg sandwiches, and they were happy to make them for us as they did not have an egg station. We went to St. Trop for lunch every day. We really liked the food there and drinks were good. There is a great view of the beach there. We made reservations for dinners after checking in and it was easy to try all of the ale Carte restaurants. My favorite was the hibachi. We enjoyed almost all of the food and drinks. We had a great time at the Masquerade Dinner Show and Mexican Night. I had a relaxing massage at the spa. The service was excellent everywhere we went.

I was slightly disappointed in the hotel and staff .The food was below average.The rooms and hotel were not updated in some time( 25 years or more.) The entertainment was average. I can say that my housekeeping staff was very personable.This is the 15 time traveling to Cancun. Not enough chairs by pool.

The staff were a 5 star, the Entertainment staff especially. Miguel was our housekeeper and kept us well stocked with water. Main pool entertainment was super fun. I participated in morning yoga and that was very good. Food was a 3. Meh at best. Except for the teppanyaki dinner and San Trope for breakfast and lunch which we very much enjoyed. Everything else was just sustenance. Spa/Massage. Karen was amazing! The wet area(sauna, steam room, hot tub) had a sewage smell and I could not wait to get out of there! Once in the spa area, the smell was lovely and ambience relaxing. Beach was lovely and clean. Pools were cold until the last two days. Sadly, unheated pools are the norm wherever we have been unfortunately so this is not unique. Pool chairs are very limited at the main pool. If you do not have a spot reserved by 6:30, it was not happening. The upper pools were full by 8. Room-we had the most basic room. It was large and clean. Nice shower and tub. The bed was old and uncomfortable (hence I needed a massage. lol). The pillows were also uncomfortable. We had 6 on the bed and couldn’t find 2 that we slept well on. Overall, if you can get a good deal, I feel it is worth staying here, but I would not pay full price.

Karla was the absolute best!! She was so nice and kind and an absolute blast! She made our entire stay even more fantastic!! You can tell she loves what she does and she brings the party wherever she is. We will definitely miss her presence and energy
