Relaxation to the Max!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Second time at the adult-only side in 6 months. The first time was with my wife's 50th. This time we went with our adult children and my in-laws. Great experience! Total relaxation! Beautiful grounds and scenery. Can miss, with Hilton status, you stay on Enclave side, you can get a butler to help with all sorts of things (our second time with Febles - he is awesome!), the buffet is awesome for breakfast and lunch, our favorite restaurants were the Grill (got a great view of the sunset) and Azzurri (Italian) the gym is perfect size, and relaxation is key at Enclave pool (many frozen drinks were had) and beach and spa with a massage from the best - Elizabeth. Carlos King was super helpful in helping me get the best suite for my wife and me. If you want warmth and relaxation this is your spot. And, if you have children, the family side with the water park is very fun.

Lots of activities; management should show a little more care

Our first time at an all-inclusive and the La Romana did deliver a fun-filled experience. We used many activities including silent disco, the dance club, pickleball and waterpark in addition to relaxing by the pool or at the beach. I did a fair amount of snorkeling; the best areas were just beyond the roped in area. It's all pretty shallow where there is no boat activity. We chose the Enclave level of service so I am unable to give feedback on the standard level but since the resort was busy, we certainly enjoyed the table-side service at breakfast and lunch each day that Enclave allowed us rather than going to the buffet. We mostly went to "Mare" for breakfast and lunch; Heidy, William, Marissa, Jennifer, Emanuel, Dominga, Reynaldo, and Kensia were great team members throughout the week - the cooks did a great job with the food served. We also enjoyed a special dinner at "LaMoustache" (French) whereby advance reserving a table off the boardwalk in which we had to buy a couple of bottle of wines (at least $150 in total) was a nice treat for our family. We also ate two evenings at Chinola, a Caribbean grill restaurant set-up on the beach - the grilled meats and shrimp were excellent and we were well served by Eduardo and Samuel, respectively. We also ate at Sakura and reserved the Hibachi table - very good food and show by chef Julio. As for drinks, day time we mostly used he Enclave Blue Barwhich serves great frozen drinks! Berdelilenis, Rosyanne, Jose Luis and Olga were great bar tenders! We also had a few drinks at the Inifinity Bar pool and was served there well by the team there. Each evening, we usually wrapped in the Enclave Lounge where Reina, Wander, and Diana made great espresso martinis and were great company! Nancy did a great job tending to our rooms each day. At the Enclave level, we were also assigned a "Butler" - Byron. Byron would check in on us daily and coordinated a cooler full of water bottles for us. The only downside e had was that our adult children in a separate room were experiencing a high level of what it appeared to be spider bites. We had met several other families and they were not experiencing any nor was my wife and I in our room so it did appear to be isolated to the room my chiildren were in. However, Byron nor management could resolve the issue after trying to fumigate, then trying a deeper fumigation, and then changing sheets. We were not offered a different room, likely due to the resort being full on our last three days. We requested to see the medical team but it would have cost $250 per child. We then asked Byron to at least find us some anti-itch cream which he was able to obtain but Byron said that his supervisor would not allow him to comp the $18 of cream to us and that we would be charged for it. Needless to say, my children needed the cream (this resort is isolated so you can't just run out to CVS). Since we had a suite, our daughter came to sleep in our room to help ease her situation which it did for her. This lack of caring left us with a "bad taste" (and from business perspective, a bit short-sighted) after which was generally a very nice resort and experience.

Outstanding trip! The facility was amazing with great views. The best part of our trip was our host Byron Mercedes, his professionalism, customer service was amazing. Anything we needed he took care of. When you go to the Hilton La Romana make sure to ask for Byron!

Lovely all inclusive hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We have just returned from spending Christmas at this hotel. We had a problem with a leaking toilet and were moved immediately. Luis, Yuberki and all the receptionists were very helpful. The buffets suited everyone even the fussiest of eaters. Dany, Mayerlin and Luisa were always helpful, happy and even taught us some Spanish in the adult buffet restaurant. Julianna, Freddy, Maria and Dualy were excellent getting us up and moving at the games and water aerobics. We had a great holiday and we would definitely recommend it. The landscaping is beautiful, the hotel, food and friendly staff made it a holiday to remember.
