Relaxing, Professional and Accommodating Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Took a four day, three night solo trip to Mexico to teach pilates and meditation through Fitness Vacation Exchange. It was an awesome trip of relaxation and rest. This all inclusive resort offered meals, drinks, spa and other great amenities. It was a short 20 min drive from the airport and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Worst in Nuevo Vallarta - No running water for 3 days.

Wyndham Alltra Vallarta, All Inclusive Resort Nuevo Nayarit No Water for 3 days/Pubic Hair in Tub/ Tub doesn't work *DON'T RESERVE * 956876143 *DO NOT RESERVE AT WYNDHAM* --Watch videos for verification-- Spent 6 days here for my proposal. For three of the days, the water inside the room did not work. I spoke with Caroline 3 separate times requesting a room change (Club Junior Suite) to a lower room and she stated the problem was throughout the whole facility. Later when Orbitz called, they lied about the entire situation from room 1717 in the VIP Club. Secondly, they offer outdoor hot tubs, however there was no running water and there was left over PUBIC HAIR in the tub. I've been through Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic and even Ukraine and have never experienced such poor service, lies, and disregard for clients. Please find an authentic hotel or even chain like Hilton or Pelicanos in Puerto Vallarta to enjoy your vacation. Please view attached documents and don't make the same mistake I did by trusting Wyndham Alltra Vista in Nuevo Vallarta @ Paseo de Los Cocoteros S/N Lot 32 y 33 Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico 63732

The worst decision I made for our honeymoon was booking this resort. I could not be much more disappointed with our experience. I will say the staff overall was very friendly - minus some pretty snarky bartenders. We did a $14/day club upgrade which was an absolute scam. The “upgrade” bar is just a wall with some alcohol stacked on it that’s barely ever open and the food sat out forever. We aren’t picky. My husband just wanted Jack Daniel’s and even though the other bars around the resort had it they wouldn’t serve it to us and directed us to the pathetic excuse for a bar on the 7th floor where they didn’t even offer it. The upgrade also included a broken coffee maker and mini fridge that was just water and soda. The alcohol is insanely watered down. Like it’s truly a joke. We each had maybe 1 drink that was actually decent the whole time. We ended up buying alcohol in town to bring back (luckily it’s not too much $ to get into PV but it negated the whole all-inclusive thing..) The food - where to begin except to say it’s absolutely awful. No flavor at all. Do not let the pictures fool you as it looks great. But it’s awful. We spent double what we spent on the resort going into PV to find better food. The reservations are a joke. They say things are booked but then there is no one there. Half the restaurants are closed every night anyway. Buffet again looks great but close to inedible for the most part. The room service is not any better. One morning we were brought a coffee cup with lip stick stains all over it. The eggs were soup. The meat disgusting. Everyone around us had similar complaints. I cannot believe what they serve people. The room was okay at first glance but definitely not clean. Grime all over the surfaces but yet a sign to not put your shoes on the coffee table as if you could make it worse. We had blood stains on a pillow case one night. The air vent is more black than white. We each got one luke warm shower the entire time. The rest were ice cold no matter how long we tried to let it warm up. They came and “fixed it” but it went right back to ice cold. The toilet and shower share a glass wall so if you like privacy, forget about it. The couch hadn’t been moved in who knows how long. We accidentally moved it and found past guests lost items and endless dirt and crumbs. Next to the sink was solid black. I’m glad I didn’t notice that until the last day. The gift shop is robbery. We went after we were starving from a terrible dinner - $10 for a bag of Doritos. We spent $40 on what would be about $15-$20 normally, if that. The pools close at 8 and it’s pretty much dead at that point - assuming because 2/3 of the place is private residence. The beach is nice, but it’s public and you’re harassed by vendors non stop. The grounds and buildings need some serious love. Cracked foundations, dirty walls, and grime everywhere. Oh and the weedwacking and mowing at noon on Sunday when everyone was trying to enjoy the pool was a nice treat. We were told it was noted on our reservation it was our honeymoon and I have no idea if they ever do anything nice in the rooms for that but they certainly didn’t for us. Overall the view is decent and the people were mostly friendly but we will never be back. I have never complained this much about a place except for when I stayed in a drugged out motel in Missouri.

Choose another resort unless you go to the Alltra in Cancun

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We decided to stay with Wyndham Alltra because we had such a great experience in the Cancun Alltra resort, but our stay in Puerto Vallarta has been a sad experience. All of these things I’m writing are a disappointing aspect of our stay when we expected the same upstanding service we received in Cancun. Positives: The room was nice and comfortable. The bed was great. Fernando, the best and most friendly customer service person on staff. He was helpful in all things. He was welcoming and always wanted to be sure the guests were happy. Angelica, who made reservations from 9-5 and worked in the restaurants as a hostess was also always wonderful. Negatives: 1st. No hot water. We called for maintenance to fix the hot water. They came to the room and said it’s hot and supposed to be that way. The water was not even near hot. Each shower, we had to ease into it to get used to the cold water. We had hot water one morning and one evening of our seven day stay. 2nd. After my husband and I each took showers we had to mop up the floor. Somehow the water flooded out of the shower stall, into the main bathroom and around to the toilet area. We called maintenance the first time it happened. They did clean it up, but each day after we moped it up ourselves. ** Restaurants 3rd. Our first time at the Mexican restaurant we had been gone all day and hadn’t eaten. We knew the portions were on the smaller side, so we ordered several items on the menu because we were very hungry. The server acted like we were terrible because of what we ordered. (These are all-inclusive and you are supposed to be able to get what you want) 4th. Reservations are required for dinner at each of the 5 main restaurants. They must be made between 9-5. Three or 4 of the days we were there we had to leave before 9 and didn’t arrive back until after 5. My cell phone did not work, so I couldn’t call the hotel. Angelica had provided me with the reservation extension, so I could contact her. This is a huge inconvenience for guests to have to worry that they won’t be able to eat dinner when arriving back. However, we asked the concierge about missing the reservation times, and we were told it’s okay, that we can go to the restaurant and wait for an available table. Great! Except that when we got to the restaurant we were told we had to have a reservation. I told her what my husband was told. She again said we needed a reservation. I asked her if she could give us one of the two tables she had available. No, we had to have it reserved. My husband was getting a drink at the bar and when he came to the stand he repeated what he was told. She then said she could give us one of the two times that were open. So there is no consistency in policies. The employees are not on the same page. It’s also a stress knowing there are limited tables because not all of the restaurants are open everyday. The buffet is the catch all, which is fine, but they closed the buffet dining room, for dinner, multiple times during the week. 5th. I had shrimp at 3 of the restaurants. The buffet, the Grill, and the Italian. Not one of the places deveined the shrimp, so I accidentally ate the poop vein in a couple of the shrimp, at the first place. I specifically asked at last two of the places if the shrimp had been deveined and was told, yes. 6th. The food in the Cancun resort was so great in every restaurant; we were never disappointed. The food in the PV resort was always subpar and very disappointing. 7th. Room service. I ordered cheeseburgers with no bun and no fries; only cheese and bacon on the burgers. I’ve never gotten a correct plate. When we talked to the concierge about the problem we had with the 4th item on the list, he was not concerned at all and acted like it wasn’t a problem. We are so disappointed in this resort compared to the wonderful experience in Cancun. The Alltra there was super guest oriented. The food was awesome in each restaurant.
