The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra

Fabulous hotel. Wonderful rooms (big space, great bed and bathroom) and the service is amazing. Bedroom views of the Taj Mahal. everything was A+. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Agra. Would highly recommend. One of the best hotel ever. Such a wonderful surprise.

We stayed for just one night but really enjoyed our time at the hotel. The grounds are immaculate with a relaxing large swimming pool area and sun terrace surrounding it. Our room was lovely with a balcony looking directly at the Taj Mahal. The hotel booked us a tour guide for the following morning’s Taj Mahal visit. Sandeep was great, he met us in reception as arranged and in no time we were at the entrance. He was a great tour guide that I’d highly recommend. He had a really friendly manner and was very knowledgeable about all the buildings and the history. He knew the tricks to avoid the worst of the crowds and captured some great photo memories for us. After the tour it was back to the hotel for a hearty breakfast and then check out at midday. All in all a great stay and a brilliant tour of the Taj Mahal.

I couldn't believe that anybody had given this hotel fewer than 5*. Having looked at the 1*'s (unbelievable!), I hope I never meet such joyless people. I might as well criticise the hotel because an insect bit my wife's leg while we were sitting outside! The place was outstanding in just about every way. Location couldn't be bettered, service was great and the layout was attractive, with atmospheric lighting and a tasteful dance show for half an hour each evening. The pool was good, staff charming and room comfortable and spacious. If there was a minor gripe, it was that the balcony meal was too much and took too long - this was probably partly to do with the prospect of a 5am alarm call to visit theTaj Mahal at sunrise! Ignore the nay sayers and go - it is one of the best hotels anywhere.

Incredible location in front of the Taj Mahal, staff is so nice and professional and the hotel is just amazing. The pool is breathless. We had a room on the fourth floor with a balcony in front of the Taj Mahal, what a chance having a Masala tea with this view. At night a show with musicians and dancers was organize with a great visibility directly from the room. Also we had the surprise to have our room decorated for our wedding anniversary. Thank you for all the nice attentions.

This is a magnificent hotel in a fabulous location supported by excellent service. When visiting the Taj Mahal you would not want to stay anywhere else. We had our wedding anniversary dinner on our balcony and it created a very special memory.
