Fab food and great service in elegant surroundings

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Spent 2 nights at Dunbrody house and loved it. We had dinner in the restaurant on the 1st night and it was something special. We both loved the food, which was really tasty and full of fresh local ingredients. Breakfast in the mornings is also in the restaurant and served to your table and was the best breakfast I've had in a while. Friendly and professional staff throughout the hotel. There's a cliff walk with great views and takes about 40 mins. The house has a relaxing, elegant vibe with a quiet bar . Daniel behind the bar was very friendly and makes a fab expresso martini. Our room was at the top of the building and the decor was dated, which was disappointing. But it was beautifully furnished and very big with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a powerful shower. What made the weekend really special was the Local at Dunbrody. It was really great to have a genuine pub to go to for one or two and relax by the fire. The Local at Dunbrody really is like your own local. Pat behind the bar was friendly and very welcoming. We had seriously good food there on our 2nd night. And great craic !

Exceptional boutique hotel that exudes elegance and class.

What can I say about this beautiful boutique hotel that would fully reflect our amazing stay? Well simply put this is a first class location, with exceptional staff service, accommodations and food that delivers great value and understated elegance. Their attention to detail and their care for the guests is exceptional and that coupled with a beautiful old country house is an experience that is worth every euro. Special mention to all of the staff in general for their kindness and professionalism but specifically to Debbie and Daniel who not only obviously enjoy their work but our exceptionally good at it. Their professionalism, standards and attention to detail, while being full of personality and of a friendly nature also made our trip extremely enjoyable. We will definitely return.

Unexpectedly amazing

Wow and wow… hadn’t been here for years. Christmas night with great friends. Picked it for convenience. We all live on the Waterford side of the ferry, so 30min max. We were aware it had been sold but didn’t expect the level of upgrade. The furniture/decor/service/classiness would be hard to match. It’s quite extraordinary. We are a group of 50 something age & are lucky enough to stay in fabulous places, this place is IT. Rooms/lunch/cocktails/ dinner/service superb. We then did a cookery class/demonstration with the fabulous Julian.. I’m blown away by the whole experience and so are my friends. Will 100% be back

Amazing stay at this hidden gem.

Beautiful hotel inside and out. Decorated to the highest standard throughout. Bedroom overlooking garden was stunning and so peaceful. Hotel was spotless. Everything seems brand new and so many rooms to relax in. Staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, we ate our way through our whole stay!!! We took part in the cookery school, which was amazing. Kevin cooked, told stories and was so much fun. Catherine was the friendliest person I have ever met when checking into a hotel. All staff were so friendly, attentive and professional. I would rate this hotel as a 5 Star hidden gem. Ideal for relaxing getaways, corporate meetings and team events. I will definitely be back.

Perfect weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at dunbrody house, our deluxe room was everything one could wish for, spacious, very comfortable bed, fully equipped bathroom & a little balcony that unfortunately we didn’t get to use due to weather. Regarding breakfast & dinner so much choice & everything cooked to perfection , we had dinner one night in the harvest room & the other night in seafood bar, we didn’t get to sample the onsite bar that serves food as it opens at 4pm daily so too late for lunch . The staff at Dunbrody are simply wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, they go to great length to make sure every need is provided for , in fact the staff are dunbrodys greatest asset , We relaxed by the fire with our books , chatted to other residents, did the cliff walk, stopped for refreshments in the kings head, had lunch in Duncannon and walked Duncanon beach , enjoyed great coffee & cakes at Kumi bakery. Thank you to all at dunbrody for ensuring we had the perfect anniversary weekend, we will definitely be back, I would go so far as to say we have found our perfect place in Ireland for a mini relaxing break
