KK Mentari is a new building and the room sizes are generous, we had a one bedroom on an upper level with a room with a view. Unfortunately our room missed a lot of details upon arrival. The rug was filthy covered in stains, the rubbish bin still had the previous guests rubbish in it, hair in the bathrooms, marks and fingerprints all over the doors. It felt like a quick sweep over not a thorough clean. In fact we arrived at 3:30pm but were told we would have to wait an hour for our room to be ready because the previous guests stayed past check out due to a delayed flight. I dont believe this should affect our check in experience, particularly when we arrived 30mins past check in time. There were no cushions on the chairs outside our balcony so we couldn't use them. I called and asked for them and they took 2 reminders and 36 hours for them to be put on the chairs, despite all other balconies having them on. The water filter system provided is great and avoids the need for bottles which we liked. We also enjoyed a session of May Thai on the rooftop, we were the only ones so had a private session, the coach Riko is great. Would recommend this but would be nice if activities are included in the stay and not extra cost. The rest of the place overall is very very tired. It needs a lot of updating. The main restaurant is rusty and the decor very outdated. The one great thing is the view. The bathrooms unfortunately are not up to standard for what is a 5 star resort, both within the restaurants and particularly the one at the beach club. During our stay our breakfast was meant to be included, it was on the first day and as of the second day they changed it without any warning other than a letter in the room saying that it now be charged and ala carte. Only bread and a plate of fruit would be provided. Coffees had to be paid for. The beach club furniture is old and grubby. Needs a good clean and update! KK used to be amazing many many years ago however we wont be returning. Too many other great villas and accommodation around in Bali that have all the attention to detail of a 5 star resort.

First time to Karma Kandara and won't be the last! From the time we arrived until we left, I cannot express how welcoming and helpful all the staff were. Nothing was a problem, offered solutions and always with a smile. Restaurant was in an amazing setting, food was great, beautiful sunsets to be seen. Our room was very spacious although maybe a little outdated but very private. We had a wonderful couple 2 hour massage packBali huts overlooking the age in the Bali huts overlooking the ocean. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We spent unbelievable four days at this hotel as a family of three. The view from the cliff is breathtaking (especially, main restaurantwith the pool, the road to the beach and the spa)! The beach is fantastic! Our villa had everything we needed. The price tag is quite high but you get memories that would stay for life.

Good service, interesting territory, but the interior of the villa needs renovation. I was at the villa for only 1 day, I have been living in Bali for more than 3 years. I have heard a lot about this hotel, but I do not consider this place the best. The old design and salty air quickly wear out the villas. I like Ubud better, with its cooler climate and gorgeous views of the jungle and rice fields. Thank you for the good service, but I did not find the renovation fresh enough. 🙏
