Reviews for Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza

Elegant Stay by the Nile

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We recently stayed at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza in Cairo as a large group, and while we were initially concerned about the age of the property, our experience turned out to be quite pleasant. Yes, the hotel is older, but the rooms have been updated enough to maintain a comfortable and luxurious feel. The service was impeccable, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our group. The views of the Nile were stunning, and the dining options were excellent. Overall, while the property does show its age in some areas, the elegance, service, and well-maintained rooms more than made up for it.

Will return on my next trip to Cairo

Was overall very happy with my stay at the Four Seasons Nile Plaza. The best thing about it was definitely my room (2710), which was super nice and had a balcony with an incredible view of the city. I gathered that I was lucky enough to be on a renovated floor, so I'm not sure if all the rooms are that good. The food was pretty good, but nothing special. I mainly ate at Byblos (by the pool), which I thought was the safest bet as they served Middle Eastern food, but there are quite a few other options. I did have some complaints about the tour they arranged - the way they quoted the price to me was extremely mislead (bordering on dishonest), where they sent me a price in an email bold and underlined, and then snuck in an "extra" charge later in the email in plain text which I had totally missed. Also, my tour guide, who I won't name since I think he was largely well-meaning and hard-working, threw me to the wolves at one point by the pyramids, suggesting I take a camel ride which was very clearly at an extortionate price. I paid 1,850EGP (about $35) for a 20-25 min camel ride, and before paying I asked him, "is this the right price?" and trusted him when he assured me it was. But I saw not long after signs advertising 1-hour camel rides for 500EGP, meaning I paid something like 10x the actual price given the length of my ride. And more to the point - I didn't even particularly want to take a ride, I was told that it was the only way you were allowed to get to a particular vantage point, which I think was total nonsense as I saw tons of people walking there. I had a chance to stop by the other Four Seasons (First Residence), and check out a room as well, and I found it to be much less nice overall, and probably a worse location to explore from on foot. The Nile Plaza one is a short walk from Tahrir Square and downtown, and is in a (relatively) quiet neighbourhood called Garden City that you can stroll around. So I think between the two Four Seasons, the Nile Plaza is definitely the better option.

Glorious lobby is matched by clean, contemporary luxury in bedroom.

Like a dream to walk into this lobby from being anywhere in Cairo, really. We had to change our original hotel, and were so lucky to move to Four Seasons. It made our trip. The staff are so kindly, the lobby is so active, and very Four Seasons, with so many restaurants, and the room - modern and renovated category - was bliss. It's not even necessary to get Nile view, as rather look at the room, like small apartment, in contemporary design, solid, white, clean, neat. Do note: The Riveria restaurant there is non-smoking, but we had dinner there and one table were smoking cigars. The managers did not do anything other than tell them one time. There may be more to the back story here, of who they were, but very unlike Four Seasons to allow this, and to keep apologies, and rather than not-giving them an ashtray and escorting them to an outside table at another restaurant. This meant that all other diners were displaced, just to accommodate these two people. Besides this, we would HIGHLY recommend the hotel, and their desert buffet in lobby is great too.

A Perfect Blend of Authenticity and Luxury in the Heart of Cairo

A Perfect Blend of Luxury and Authenticity This hotel offers an exceptional stay with its mix of authentic charm and modern luxury. The furniture feels like art, and the staff are warm and professional. Located in the heart of Cairo, it’s perfect for exploring the city. Don’t miss the Chinese restaurant—it’s a must-try! The refined ambiance and exclusive atmosphere made my experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Long past it's sell by date.

The new wing blocks the old wings view of the nile. They don't tell you. The furniture and furnishings are old and tired. The bar is enclosed and grim. The concierge is inefficient no notification that a parent had arrived. Asked to organise a tennis lesson2 weeks before arrival ignored and then failed. All fine for a 2 star hotel at 2 star pruces
