Terrible decline and decay in the hotel experience and staff. Compared to prior stays here, it was horrible. Too many issues that impacted several basic areas of this hotel stay. No accountability or taking responsibility for service failures either.

The hotel was very comfortable and clean and up to the standard we have experienced in the past. We managed to sleep well which is very important. The staff throughout the hotel were super friendly and helpful and it's in a great location for what we needed

Great Location but service was not good. There is no ice machine on the floor so they request you call down to have it delivered. We called four times in a two hour window and it never showed up. On the fifth time We asked to speak to the manager. Front desk assured us we would get ice (it arrived) but we were on hold for 30 minutes and manger never picked up. That evening we received a call from the front desk. They said we would be receiving a coupon for three people to eat brunch at Henrietta’s. Even though they tried to make things right there was even confusion with this as we showed up for breakfast. Staff believed the coupon was for the buffet and told us to come back at 12:30. When we did, they said the coupon was for breakfast. They ultimately accept led the coupon. The manager handled the matter well but the whole experience left a bad taste in our families mouth. When you pay over $1,000 a night for a “luxury class hotel” you expect a lot more.

Charles is a well located heritage hotel. But overall the staff at the hotel seem to feel that they doing the guests a favour, not very forthcoming or friendly. The housekeeping was very poor. ................................................
