La Playa Carmel

The rooms a little small but other than that it was great. The lounge, the Bar, the food all great. They had daily wine tastings while we were there. The Bar looks over the ocean and has some nice firepits. The lobby has a fireplace also. Great historical place. The staff were terrific.

My wife and I just returned from our Carmel by-the-sea baby moon and the we both agree that the La Playa Hotel was definitely the highlight of our trip. So many thoughtful touches around the property and amenities that cater to everyone. We especially loved the champagne breakfast with a full service omelet & waffle bar and so many other delicious offerings every day. We also enjoyed the beautiful property, outside patios and fire pits, complimentary shuttle service, cocktail hour and fresh baked cookies every night. The hotel staff were highly attentive, very hospitable and eager to serve us. The hotel is just a few steps away from the beach and very nice beach walking trail that we enjoyed with the locals each morning. The hotel is also located very close to town with tons of shopping and dining experiences. The room was also very comfortable and spacious. There's too many good things to stay - you'll just have to experience it for yourself. We can't wait to visit again!

This is the very best hotel in Carmel by the Sea! The ocean view room we had was excellent with two walls of windows looking over the beautiful grounds and the Pacific Ocean! The amenities were wonderful with the morning breakfast having excellent food and staff. Also, the bar has very good drinks and food. The wonderful historic property is very well maintained with very friendly and helpful staff. Plus, the location is excellent with only a short walk to the beach and town. They will also drive you to/from any restaurant nearby in case you do not feel like taking the large hill up to the town.

A great escape; very quaint hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Cell signal can be glitchy, but overall a memorable experience. Easy walk to beach and Ocean Avenue. Breakfasts are fantastic with amazing views of the water. Afternoon Sangria and wine, another plus.

Loved the location of the hotel and having a shuttle to restaurants at night. The breakfast buffet was overwhelming with choices and very good! The rooms were lovely and our ocean view room was so nice. Just down the block to the ocean walk which i did everyday. The neighborhood is safe and so beautiful. The staff was outstanding. The bed wasSO comfy.
