Cabaret night

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

First class stay. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. We were here for the last cabaret night this year. We cannot fault it. Food was good entertainment was fabulous and a special thank you to Eamonn, Noel for the guided walk, the bar man in the afternoon who made the best mojito, also the reception staff and the cleaners who keep the Hotel immaculate.

Another visit to Harvey’s Point, see below: Beautiful surrounding; Great food and plenty of it; Excellent service; Friendly staff, especially Rosin who we had a pleasure to meet in the restaurant; Tea, coffee and cookies on your arrival. Nice wee touch from the restaurant staff. In my opinion I would recommend Harvey’s Point always, it’s the most beautiful place. The walks around the hotel grounds are stunning. On a summers day or in the winter. It’s also not far from Donegal town, which has plenty of shops to visit for gifts etc. There’s a walk to the famine pot nearby also.

Brilliant performance on the big things. Poor on some smaller items.

Fabulous hotel, with beautiful bedrooms, restaurant and other common areas. Food is similarly brilliant - breakfast is awesome, dinner (as part of cabaret) equally brilliant (and serving very well-organised), dinner in main restaurant very good also, although quite limited in terms of number / range of main courses (3) offered. Staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and most helpful. It's obvious this hotel has a long-standing track record in providing its products and services to these exemplary standards. But the small things can bite you! For example, the weather was very unpleasant during our stay, making it impossible to even go for walks. As we are both news-junkies, and with the US Presidential Elections less than a week away, bingeing on TV news channels was called for. However, TV reception in our room was quite limited - none of UTV, BBC2, Sky News, CNN (and quite a few other channels) were available. We raised this at the start of our 2-night stay, but it couldn't be sorted during our stay - hotel reception confirmed it was actually a hotel-wide problem and not just confined to our room. At dinner on the second night, we asked for the radiator at the side of our table to be put on and we were told it would be. 45 minutes later, we told the waiter it still hadn't come on. He said it had definitely been turned out, but he discovered it needed to be turned on at the radiator itself. 20 minutes later, it still hadn't come on. We raised the matter again, to be told that radiator hadn't been turned on in ages, that it probably wasn't working, and that Maintenance would have to look at it. While we were offered the opportunity to move to another table, we had almost finished our meal by then, so we declined. These were 2 quite disappointing aspects to what was otherwise a really pleasant stay in this luxury 4-star hotel.

We visit Harvey’s Point at least twice a year. We love the whole experience and the welcome we always receive. Especially enjoy the cabaret nights which are excellently hosted by Eamonn Gillespie. The variety of performances this season was excellent. Would definitely recommend. Anna & Noel.

Just had two fab days at Harveys Point from start to finish. Really enjoyed wine tasting, cookery demo, walk with Noel and the cabaret hosted by Eamonn and a brilliant line up, food was excellent too. So well looked after, staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Look forward to the next trip and the cabaret too, tnx Eamonn!!
