When Breidenbacher Hof, a Capella hotel opened at the turn of the 19th Century, it was a bona fide royal hotel that counted Russian Czar Alexander II among its early guests. World War II demolished the original structure, but it was rebuilt – and rebuilt again in 2006 – with equal grandeur. Tastefully modern rooms outfitted in shades of gold match the hotel’s refined service. Briedenbacher Hof is earning a name for itself as a medical destination spa – guests can access a private clinic where cardiologist Dietrich Baumgart practices preventative medicine, and a network of German’s leading cosmetic and plastic surgeons offer services with utmost discretion.

Already when I arrived in a hassle, the front office staff from bell captain to receptionist were most attentive and I felt very welcome. We had an event beside the restaurant where staff was also wonderful and the flying buffet was excellent. Housekeeping was very attentive and professional, the room was spacious inviting and classic. Check out was efficient and kind, then we were very on last minute for our train and there was no taxi, so Enzo the bell captain, tried to catch us a taxi from anywhere but in the end we had to take the underground and he helped us with the luggage down to the underground to show us the way. The General Manager just arrived and he also supported us and suggested the U-Bahn and was very kind. Best hotel in the region for sure.

Hotel is very lovely. Staff are very friendly, welcoming, and always available. My room was great, as were the beds and shower / bath. This hotel is best enjoyed if you are partaking in the afternoon refreshment services etc. If not, the price you pay (60 euros of your stay) is effectively paying for coffee only for breakfast, as their definition of included "continental breakfast" includes almost nothing (sliced break and cold cereal were not included, as an example). I was upgraded to what was apparently a larger room on the 2nd floor due to my Hilton Diamond status; room size was nice but didn't seem lavish for the price of the room (almost 500 euros).

This hotel is undoubtedly a top-tier property with exceptional amenities and a stunning ambiance. While the service was generally excellent, I was disappointed by the lack of complimentary upgrades for my Hilton Diamond status, csr stated that we could upgrade to suite for $600 per night, but complimentary upgrades are limited to only one category up. Positives: - The rooms were impeccably designed and equipped with top-of-the-line amenities. - The hotel exuded an air of sophistication and elegance throughout, creating a truly relaxing and unforgettable experience. - The staff were generally friendly, attentive, and eager to assist. Negatives: - As a Hilton Diamond member, I was disappointed that the complimentary upgrade was limited to only one category. Given the premium price point of this hotel and only 1 night stay, I expected more flexibility in upgrade options, especially considering the availability of suites. - Encountering a room with non-functional heat was a significant inconvenience. While the staff were prompt in resolving the issue, the time spent on the room change disrupted the start of our stay. - Unfortunately, our request for a late checkout (just one hour past the standard time) was denied. This was a disappointment, as a late checkout would have allowed us to fully enjoy our last day at the hotel, especially considering the high cost of the stay.
