This hotel, a part of the Historic Hotels of America, is located on the idyllic Dartmouth College campus overlooking the college Green. The Hanover Inn Dartmouth is a delightful, neo-Georgian structure that features on-site dining, a gym, and rooms with free Wi-Fi. Each room at Hanover Inn Dartmouth is colonial-style, furnished with dark hardwood furniture. The Hotel restaurant, the Pine, is an American Restaurant using a farm to table approach, meaning seasonal, fresh ingredients used from many regional farms to deliver you the best local cuisine.

The staff at the Inn are very welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We were well rested for our days of meetings on campus. We were there with several alumni, and they each had something nice to say about their visit. The front desk is especially helpful in giving information about transportation to and from airports.

We had a lovely relaxed stay for the first night of our honeymoon ( visiting from the United Kingdom). The Hanover Inn has an old world charm which is quite hard to find these days whilst offering the latest in comfort and service. Highly recommended!

Practically speaking, it hardly matters how I review the place, because there are so few choices for hotels in the area that you'll wind up here anyway. That said, it is a very fine hotel, basically on the Dartmouth campus and next to the arts center (currently theater is under construction) and we had a nice stay, with a few nit-picking comments: - in-building fancy restaurant has few vegetarian options; it is where breakfast is offered, too, and the vegan-friendly options (oatmeal, fruit platter, baked potatoes) were very good. - limited fitness room, tends more to cardio. - I didn't care for the way that the valet parking was handled, especially the pick-up. It turned out that my car had been left out front, unlocked, with the keys in the ignition and the windows open. And, when I was recovering from the shock of seeing it like this, I realized I had no way of demonstrating that the car was mine -- no receipt, chit, etc. that I should have received at drop-off. They did ask for my room number, and I said the number, and that seemed to be enough. So, too trusting, entirely. I never like valet parking anyway, and this experience confirms that feeling. (There turns out to be a public parking garage about two blocks south.)

The Inn is modern, with a solid old College feel. The staff is wonderful. And of course the location is the best. The rooms are renovated, modest size, and quiet.

I stayed here to visit my son at Dartmouth. This is a beautiful and very well appointed Inn. The common areas are lovely and the pine green theme is very skillfully carried through the decor. The rooms are extremely nice (if a bit unimaginative for the price point). It's just incredibly expensive (even without breakfast), and as demand rises, the price of a room can exceed $700 a night. I think we're going to check out their competitor down the street next time.
