Wonderful Hotel with amazing staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 18 hours ago

I had the pleasure of staying here during the recent Habanos Festival. A wonderful hotel radiating both Cuban and European charm. While there are some challenges in being able to provide certain things in the country, the hotel and it's staff really do provide a wonderful experience. The rooms are spacious, ckean & well appointed, the restaurant and breakfast buffet very good and above all the rooftop bar/restaurant with it's stunning views of the Capitolio superb. Thank you to all the staff who really try and make your stay great. From Jaume, the GM, David at Concierge, Ingrid in the hotel foyer with her beautiful smile, Yuni in housekeeping and all the others who are too many to mention everyone tries to make your stay the best it can be. Special mention to Xavier, the COO. A true gentleman who radiates charm and professionalism. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful experience and see you again soon.

Cuba trip for a week

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Very new and clean hotel, many food selections for the breakfast. Staffs are nice and enthusiastic. Mr. Hiram takes good care of us and very good services. The hotel is near the building of Capitol. Many taxi and vintage cars outside and it is very convenient. For sure will choose this hotel again when we come to Cuba next time.

Classism and Racism 101

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A friend of mine from told me to speak English when you ask to go to the rooftop bar. I said "why should I?" They can't judge you by your accent or appearance. UNFORTUNATELY, they did. I went in with my friend who a black, local cuban and he asked if we could go up to the rooftop bar, since we saw the lights on. The manager, or what appeared to be one, said that they were closed. Really? The lights are on and they didn't let us in? I shouldn't have to speak English if I want to be treated better. This is ridiculous and in Cuba, there is still some racism and classism to be had. I was a victim of this. I look Cuban since I have Cuban blood, but even the way that I was dressed didn't make a difference. If you're white and speak English, they will roll out the red carpet, but if not, prepare to be judged on your appearance. I wouldn't give this establishment my money if I was paid to stay there. The other 2 hotels down Paseo de Robles, the Packard and the one in front, let us in with no problem, but of course I was the one who asked. Do not patronize this place, that is, if you don't mind being discriminated
