I was is town for business and stayed 2 nights. First, when I walked in I was greeted by name. Something special about that!! Great check in experience! Friendly employees. Enjoyed dinner which was the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. WOW! Delicious. Room 217 was an oversized queen room. Character! Roomy! Clean! Also had a desk. The only thing I’d suggest is a full length mirror and small refrigerator in the room. But other than that accommodations were great! Breakfast - kinda sad I missed this. After the amazing dinner the night before I was looking forward to breakfast. But I had to get to the office at 8. (Breakfast started at 8). Very pretty with the flowering trees and tulips. It was drizzly so I didn’t spend time in the garden. Looked cozy. Patio was screened in and cozy as well. This will be my go to place when I’m back in town.

This is an absolutely charming inn. My room on the second floor was larger than I expected, so I had plenty of room to spread out. The bed was comfy, the tv was a flat screen that pushed out of the way. A wardrobe served as a closet. The room even used real keys--a rarity in these card key days. I went down for the wine sampling and ended up eating dinner in the bar. The smoked trout is terrific. The next morning, after a delicious included breakfast--I sat by the fire in the lobby, catching up on work. I hope I return to Hawley again so I can return to the Settlers Inn!

Sunday Brunch was lovely. I started with a Virgin Bloody Mary and it was superb. ... so much so that I had a second! The French onion soup was terrific - sweet and flavorful. (Next time I'll ask for less cheese. It was too much.) The omelet was done perfectly. The home fries tasted just a bit like previously baked potatoes that were repurposed into homefries. Not the best. But the BEWARE flag goes up about the water. It was awful tasting - fishy and quite off-putting. Do NOT drink the water! Our waiter was friendly and responsive but he did forget to serve us the soda that we ordered. He apologized and we weren't charged, but the fact that the restaurant wasn't at all busy, makes this oversight a bit less excusable. We love the decor, the ambience, and the small town elegance. Our experience was good, and we'd definitely go back.... but #1 - FIX THE WATER!

This is by far the best place my partner and I have ever stayed. He's pretty good at finding amazing Inns and hotels and this tops it all. The Settlers Inn is homey, cozy and fun. The staffs were incredibly helpful, the room was clean and perfect for our stay. The food at the restaurant was suburb. It was the perfect place to spend New Years together. I'm very grateful we had a satisfying stay here.

I am so impressed by this beautiful inn. My family and I stayed one night in three different rooms. It has been restored to its’ original Victorian splendor with very tasteful furnishings and decor. It is warm and cozy and the staff (especially Kevin at front desk) is helpful and gave us great tips. It is exceptionally clean and beds very comfortable. Food is delicious. I would stay again I highly recommend going to this gem!
