Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort and Spa

This resort is beautiful. Very well kept . Extremely clean. Lots of great food. Air conditioning worked great. Lots of hot water. But the best are the staff. They made the vacation very enjoyable . The Horse and Buggy Ride was so much fun. The market is lovely and the Snack Bar in Quadalavaca is excellent

Outstanding hotel. My first time in Cuba and I was totally WOWED by this hotel. The Air Canada rep, Pavel, was so pleasant and helpful. I was so impressed with LUIS ALBERTO, the customer service rep at PARADISUS. He recommended an amazing room for me and always greeted me with a smile. I loved my spacious room on the upper second floor. So comfortable and quiet with a beautiful view of the spectacular gardens. I stayed for 2 weeks by myself and felt totally safe. The entire team at the PARADISUS is extraordinary. So friendly,hard working and pleasant Immense thanks to the staff, especially DELMIS, ELVIS, MARISOL, LUIS, MANUEL at the 24 hour snack bar. Loved the pizzas, and ice cream. Also enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast and dinner at La Cieba. Yalanis, Eddy, Opelia and Silvio were great. Always lots of delicious food items Loved the a la carte restaurants. Pablo was wonderful about booking them for me. The pool and the beach are fantastic. Never a problem getting a chair and a beach hut. The ocean is warm, clear and calm. Snorkeling equipment is provided. The entertainment was so appreciated. Lovely piano and guitar and saxophone players. Amazing Cuban bands and incredible aqua aerobics group. I was encouraged to bring new American $1 bills for tipping and also clothes. toiletries and pharmacy items , They were so appreciated. This resort costs more money but doesn't offer more products. The beach and pool are great, as are most in this country, so the experience and food would be the variables that make a difference. This place fell short.

My husband and I simply loved Paradisus Río De Oro Resort & Spa. The resort was lovely with spacious rooms that are located in low-rise buildings surrounded by mature vegetation. There is a nearby nature reserve and we were delighted with the number of birds that we saw each day. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There are many returning visitors (which speaks to how wonderful it is) who are also quite happy to share tips and suggestions. We loved all of the options for activities and had a great time. There is something for everyone to do or not do - you set the pace with being as active or laid back as you feel. We enjoyed the pool along with the beach where we went snorkeling and kayaking. We also kicked back in the cabanas and just relaxed. There was wonderful live music throughout the time that we were at the resort. (I love Cuban music.) There were many entertainment options that we could enjoy. The rum tasting was a really fun activity one afternoon and we learnt a lot about Cuban rum and local traditions. We loved that it was all-inclusive. There was plenty of food and drink to be had with restaurants and a buffet. There is also a 24 hour restaurant and bar onsite. None of the activities came with a fee as with the exception of the spa and day trips, everything but tips was included. In terms of paid extras, we also made good use of the spa facilities and I highly recommend the couples massage. There is a salt water swimming pool and a private beach for the spa area. The day trip from the resort to Holguin was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed it - especially the lobster lunch in Gibara! These were all reasonably priced. The resort has an excellent Facebook group that is good for prepping for your trip. I recommend going to Paradisus Río De Oro Resort & Spa and we are already making plans to go back again.

We returned last week from our fourth visit to this beautiful resort, a two week stay which was not long enough. We are currently booking our trip for next February and want to stay three weeks. Hoping to also make in back for a week in May. So, what does this indicate? It indicates that we love it, that it’s the type of place you don’t want to leave, and the type of place that while you are still there you are already booking the return. It’s been said already but it needs to be repeated, I have never been to a resort or hotel that gets so many repeat guests, it’s a testament to just how wonderful this resort is. It’s not just the physical beauty of the property, which is indeed incredible, it’s the warm welcome, the genuine kindness and helpfulness, the generosity and the professionalism. The staff at this resort is bar none the best we have ever encountered anywhere. I hope management reads this and acknowledges it, your staff is incredible, in all areas! We arrive to the resort and instantly feel a calmness, everything falls into place, we are relaxed…. This visit I need to mention even with 12000 plus steps daily plus swimming I gained 5 pounds! The food was plentiful and delicious and the drinks cold and yummy. 😋 Thank you to Lina, Edgar, Dunieski, Rolando and Rolando, Alexei, Ekaterina, John, Nirma, Disney, Tamara, Manuel, Smiley, forgive me for forgetting names but the list goes on and on and on. Thank you to you all! It’s truly a special place, not just a vacation but an experience. Please visit lovely little Rancho Naranjo, just across the lagoon bridge, take my doggies some treats and take a tour. A wonderful family run stable. As well, contact Karlos Ross for a birding and local flora and fauna tour, see local villages with his expert knowledge. ( he’s also a talented and caring vet ).
