Our family of 5 just spent a fantastic, relaxing week at the Islands at Mauna Lani in Q3. It is a lovely, quiet unit that was just the right distance to the pool. I was pleasantly surprised how very clean everything was. My request for 2 beds in the second room was accommodated and my 3 teens all had plenty of space to themselves. There was also a day bed in the upper hallway AND a sofa bed in the living room. The best part was having 2 full baths and a 3rd bathroom with a toilet and sink. Actually, the best part was probably easy access to the Beach Club. It was a lovely place to snorkel and relax. We even walked there once. The trails around the Mauna Lani resort are a nice walk. My kids loved seeing all the fish and eels in the fishponds. We loved walking over to Foodland Farms and trying many of their lunch, dinner and dessert items. Some things to note: we used our rental car daily. While you could enjoy yourself staying strictly within the Mauna Lani resort and shops, we found restaurant and shopping options were better for our family in the Waikoloa area. My kids also wanted a change of pace from the quiet atmosphere of the Beach Club and we took boogie boards to Hapuna Beach. This is a place we would love to come back to!

This was a wonderful and impeccable experience. Easy to access and all the amenities you’d expect at this price point. The private beach was amazing with great snorkelling. The condo was perfect for our family.

Run if anyone suggests this property. We rented 2 two bedroom townhouses from September 28- October 1, 2022. We were not informed in advance that there is no onsite office. It is a gated community. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Wednesday with no way to get into the gate or the townhouses. When we called the phone number provided for the resort, we got a recording saying it was no longer in service. We went to a nearby hotel hoping they could help but they couldn't. After an hour of trying to get into the resort, someone in our group contacted bookings.com who had nothing to do with booking our trip but they were kind enough to locate an afterhours number for the resort. When we called, we were told that their offsite office closed at 6:00pm during the week. We were given the gate code and the codes to the lock boxes for the townhouses. The interiors of the townhouses have not been updated in decades. The Wifi did not work. The cable TVs worked sporadically. The bathrooms are outdated and full of mold. The beds had sheets and a thin blanket but no comforter. You were literally looking at the box springs. The showerheads are the very tiny heads from the 1980s. You had to be less than 5'8" tall to use the shower and the water trickled out. Both bedrooms are upstairs. There is only one thermostat upstairs. One bedroom was freezing and the other was hot no matter what the thermostat was set on. Do not be fooled by the pictures on the website. We were and so were our neighbors. The people who rented the townhouse next door to us came over and were furious. They were faced with the same issues I have outlined above. These townhouses look nice on the exterior but are old and disgusting on the inside. We stayed at two beautiful resorts on Maui and Kuai that were equally priced and in the middle of many attractions. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere. If you stay here, be prepared to travel significant distances to do anything.

We spend about 2weeks with my family. Gorgeous house and impeccable furniture, good house keeping, good garage, and etc... I can see Mt.Mauna Kea & the some astronomical telescopes of many countries. The garden of The islands at Mauna Lani is well kept, beautiful grass,

We enjoyed two weeks at K1 and loved it. Well stocked everything - the owners thought of everything! We did temporary membership to sport/fitness centre and it was worth the hefty price. We loved the tennis (Gatorade and cold towels set up at each court). Our teenage son is a weightlifter and he had everything he needed. Islands is not on or near the beach but the sport facilities made it worthwhile and the private beach club is fab - you can rent paddle boards and there is a restaurant there too. The islands pool is incredibly peaceful because of the waterfall - and plenty of shade. Grounds extremely well maintained. I’d stay at the islands again.
