This was our second visit to this superb hotel. The location, overlooking the lake, and the beautiful grounds make this an ideal place to relax. Service from all the staff is superb. The lakeside villa was spacious, spotless and complete with all the amenities you would expect. The villa had its own pool which again was spotless. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were a challenge as there was so much choice on offer and the quality was excellent. Staying at this hotel was a highlight of our holiday.

This property is beautiful! But even during the best time to visit this place, we had to deal with mosquitoes and very hot weather. This is a luxury hotel and very pricey, so taking away a star because of the experience. The sunset cruise they offered was good.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights, which was not nearly enough to enjoy this SPECTACULAR resort. The hotel, grounds, rooms, pools, amenities and dining were top notch. Lots of activities on-property and offsite, such as exploring the backwaters and canal and walking village tour. Luxuriate with a couple’s Ayurvedic massage. Don’t miss the sunset cruise which leaves promptly at 5:30pm. Above all, the service was beyond 5 stars. Special recognition to Kavi, Aarthy, and Gloria for taking care of us.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Kumarakom Lake Resort. It was an interesting stay. It's a nice place but a bit rustic. There's not a lot to do there unless you're into resort things, such as spa treatments. The hotel is made up of small clusters of one story rooms, perhaps two to four in a building. A lot of the hotel is open to the elements. For example, there was just a stone paved walkway between our room and the lobby, and it rained once or twice while we were there. Our room was nice but a bit smaller than other hotels we've stayed in. The unusual thing about the room was that the bathroom was outside, but private, connected to the room. The bathroom had a shower which was open to the sky, but at least it had hot water. I suppose it's fairly hot all year long there or showering outside would be a bit uncomfortable. It was fairly hot while we were there. They gave us a key for the room, but it was really not a key. Every "key" was the same so any key would open any room Breakfast was good and the staff was excellent. If you're into resort travel, this might be a nice hotel for you.
