Tucked away on gently sloping, tropical beachfront on the northwest coast of the island, Calabash Cove is one of a few luxury boutique hotels on St. Lucia. Nestled in the sheltered bay of Bonaire Estate, Calabash Cove is perched on a hillside sloping gently towards the Caribbean Sea, where cool ocean breezes provide a wonderful respite and the turquoise sea is offset by the vibrant green of tropical vegetation and views of Walcott Island. A secluded beach sheltered by a nearby coral reef provides the perfect place to rest, reflect and dream. The resort has been designed with great care to complement and exist in harmony with the beauty of its natural surroundings. The main buildings of the hotel, such as the lobby, restaurant, bar, sanctuary, and infinity pool with waterfall offer stunning ocean views, with the Watersedge Cottages amidst lush vegetation perfectly situated to view nightly sunsets.

If you want the most relaxing vacation possible, go to calabash cove. The waterside cottages are charming and secluded, facing the sea. Great staff, great food. Although most of the people that stay here are couples, as two friends who just wanted to read and swim and eat and drink well, it was perfect for five nights. Highly recommend.

60th birthday statement destination and worth every bit! The resort has a very relaxed atmosphere complimented by very attentive and joyful staff. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone here. The food was pretty good with a reasonably varied menu. A couple of suggestions. Give the staff name badges so that they can be properly addressed and complimented. Give the staff a decent electronic billing system so they spend less time accounting and more time chatting!

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing and romantic spot, definitely come to Calabash! We spent our honeymoon there, and rarely did we ever see anyone besides the staff (who were so incredible and took the time to learn our names). If we did want interaction, the swim up pool bar is a fun spot. We enjoyed a private dinner, couples massage, and our own personal pool at our cottage. Would love to come back! S/o Michelle, Teddy, Travis, and Jeanne - you really made our experience great :)

My wife and I had an amazing time at Calabash Cove. In full disclosure, we did the all-inclusive package but probably did not drink or eat our money’s worth. The fridge in the room was restocked daily with water, juices, soda, beer, wine and they also provided alcohol bottles to make mixed drinks or shots. We also loved the plantain chips provided daily. The room we selected was one with direct access to the pool. It was nice to walk out of the room and walk down the steps into the pool. Honestly, the rooms were extremely clean and well maintained but could use a refresh. Nothing to really complain about. The room had both US type electrical outlets as well as local type G outlets. The restaurant was very clean and the food was excellent. The menu remained the same during our stay but the daily specials provided additional variety which also never disappointed. There were plenty of options to choose from at each meal. The restaurant overlooked the pool and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The bar was fun to have a drink before and after dinner! Be sure to have some of the “Special Rum” that can be found in the large bottle at the end of the bar!! The beach was kept impeccably clean and always had a beautiful array of conch shells and coral. The grounds of the resort were absolutely gorgeous and kept beyond immaculate!! The infinity pool was beautiful and looked directly over the ocean. Great spot to have a drink while watching the sunset. Speaking of sunsets, they were truly spectacular, you don’t want to miss them! The only flaw for the pool was the underwater stools at the swim up pool bar could use some maintenance as tiles were missing on the seats and it could be a little sharp at times if you rubbed against them the wrong way. Now for the fun stuff. The experience we had was really amazing. Considering this was a smaller resort, we were not sure what to expect. Not sure if we just lucked out but we really enjoyed the company of everyone we met there from other guests to the staff. We made so many friends from both the US and from the UK. Seemed everyone wanted to just have a great time. Outside of the friends we made, what really made this trip exceptional, was the staff. Words can’t even describe the wonderful staff they have at Calabash and they work so well together and cohesively together. The staff truly made our trip so memorable and we want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Every staff member we encountered provided outstanding service. We got to know pretty much all the staff really well, and they definitely deserve a HUGH shout out! We would like to mention some of our favorites, in no specific order and using their well-deserved nick names, Mikey boy (serves up the best tequila shots), KMI (That’s his initials we nick named him. You’ll know who he is the second he smiles!!), Teddy Special (Ahh make sure you order the Teddy special and tell him Jersey told you to ask for it, prime time Dion (The best and along with Mikey boy they play the best music at the swim up bar and make some darn good drinks!), Michelle (Truly the best! Tearing up as I type this now, Michelle you truly went above and beyond! Calabash is lucky to have such an amazing person on their team!) and last but definitely not least KEVIN (Always there taking care of us!!)!!!! Each and every one of them are truly great and unique people and we are humbled to have had the chance to meet and enjoy their company. Hopefully our paths will cross again!! Thank you again!! 5 stars all around and yes we highly recommend staying at Calabash Cove. We are the type of travelers who tend to visit one places and not go back “been there done that let’s go somewhere new” but Calabash made such an impact on us that we will definitely be back!! We have visited St Lucia for over 30 years and stayed at several resorts. Calabash Cove rates amongst the best, secluded, excellent facilities, great staff, excellent cuisine. We had a waterfront cottage, set amongst trees with its own sizeable jacuzzi pool. We also had a look at one of the ‘step down’ rooms by the pool. We would be happy with either, they all face the sea and enjoy the often glorious sunsets.
