We stayed here in November to attend the Melbourne Cup - as it was a special trip we booked into a Grand Suite King Room and although it was a nice big room it was a bit bland and functional with some dull brown furniture - bathroom was nice and everywhere was clean. Plenty of fresh free water supplied which was good. We had breakfast included and took it in Collins Kitchen which was quite varied but to be honest the best bit about the stay was the access to the lounge. - snacks available all day and drinks for a couple of hours in the evening so perfect for a pre dinner drink - some food was also on offer but 3 nights it was sushi / Asian based which isn’t our thing so a little disappointing - it really should be something more widely eaten as sushi is an acquired taste - have one dish perhaps if you have to and something more standard as well. All the staff in the lounge were lovely. - shout outs to Yuly, Luxmi and a lovely Argentinian lady whose name I sadly didnt get ( she gave us some good recommendations for dinner ) All the guys on the door / concierge area were lovely and friendly. Would stay again as long as we can get the lounge access

I love staying at this hotel for so many reasons. Mostly though it would be for the staff. The welcome greeting from the Bell Desk Team is always cheery. Sang, Patrick, Giordano, Curtis, 'TIm' and of course the epic Jimmy make arrival at this hotel super welcoming. Any problems or queries during my stay are speedily attended to by the wonderful concierge Craig. The coffee shop is always fun and chatty with the friendly and happy A Team Barista crew - Prisca, Mercy and Chi. Anthony and Henri are always ready with a cheerful greeting too. The hotel location is perfect for MCG, Arts Centre, Tennis and a walk around the Botanic Gardens. I can't recommend this place more highly and look forward to many more stays.

My wife & I had a very relaxing stay for our daughter's special day. Wedding day is normally stressful, but our stay made us all at ease. Wonderful breakfast with our daughter and her husband before they set off for their honeymoon. Lovely experience.

The hotel is central to several restaurants, accessible to several tram and train lines, and walking distance to trendy neighborhoods such as Fitzroy. The staff were delightful and helpful to all my requests. The fitness center was large and had all the amenities I needed. The hotel itself was really old with metal pieces tearing away from the toilet bowl. The lobby consistently had a heavy scent of perfume. Perhaps, a hotel for an older demographic and a different time.

We have stayed at the Hyatt many times over the years and always had a great experience. This time we decided to get a club room and check out the club lounge. The lounge room itself is long and narrow to take advantage of the view, you are on the 31st floor. The evening drinks and canapes were ok. Two hot options with salads, cold meats and cheeses. A small selection of desserts. Self serve everything. It was ok but no wow factor. Breakfast was disappointing, bain marie scrambled eggs, bacon, tomato, baked beans and mushrooms were the hot options. Pod coffee which was just ok, toast, cereal and a small selection of fruit pieces. We both felt this was well below expectations for a hotel of this standard. Had far better breakfasts at the airport holiday inn. We decided to head to Collins Kitchen for breakfast the next day and were asked to pay $25 per head (50% off) for the pleasure of dining there. It is a waaaay better selection with egg and pancake/waffle station and international food choices but I felt it was poor value when you already pay a premium for the club room and the sub standard club lounge. We found the service good, staff are friendly and attentive. We would probably return to this hotel but give the club room a miss.
