We took the spirit of Memphis and one of its legendary citizens, Hugh “Hu.” Lawson White Brinkley, and channeled it into a thoughtfully designed hotel experience. Beautiful rooms feature everything you need and want for a restful, wonderful stay, and it’s all done with style and substance the Hu. way. Inspired by generations of Memphians who do things a new way, Hu. welcomes you to an ambitious and visionary hotel experience in the Southeast. Hu (hue) Hotel features 110 rooms and suites, complimentary Wi-Fi in all areas, Lucy's Cafe and Hu Roof with its open-air rooftop bar and panoramic views of the Mississippi River.

This hotel was booked for me by my employer and while the property has so much potential it gives a run down, dirty vibe. Checked in, got my keys which I discovered were for a room that was already occupied (sign was on door and TV was audible so I never went in) and key cards had some sticky food residue on them. Halls look and smell old and funky lots of stains and fraying on the carpet. My sink doesn't drain-gross-and the sink handles don't look like they were cleaned well-there is what looks like dried up soap or something on the base of the handles. Worst is there is a fan or something that vibrates intermittently loudly even when I shut the AC/heat off. I wanted to ask to switch rooms but frankly I am exhausted and its only 1 night. I am literally sitting on bed typing this. Housekeeping is by request only (thankfully only here for a night) and overall-the place has a dingy, sad vibe to it. Last-since I notice wildly varying reviews which frankly, make me question some people's standards, I will say that for business, I typically stick to Hilton properties, ideally a Hampton Inn, Hilton or Canopy. For personal travel, I usually book a Kimpton, Conrad, Westin, Thompson or a Four Seasons if I'm feeling like a splurge.

A lovely hotel, a lovely room and a lovely welcome from Ebony. Ebony is an absolute star and couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. Full of information, and always a smile and lovely greeting. A pure asset in itself to the Hotel. Everything you need is close bye. Additionally you have access to the gym across the road from the hotel owned by Mark who makes you feel very welcome and loads of weight and cv equipment available.

The beds were extremely comfortable, room was very clean, rooftop bar was nice. The downtown was like a ghosrt town, likely since it was January, we had same safety concerns as a family walking outside the hotel, but the inside the hotel was safe and secure. The parking was reasonable and very close for a downtown location.

Beautiful hotel that seems to be past its prime. The hotel and room was very nice, but there was a plumbing issue that was so loud it kept us up most of the night. Breakfast was also pretty limited options. We found it to be a good location to walk from to get to where we wanted to go

Diamond was great along with the rest of the ladies accommodating any of our requests. The suite that we stayed in on first glance was beautiful. However, the bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was not that great either, the display clearly looked burnt. We left earlier than our reservation due to how uncomfortable the bed was, the Hu is usually our go to hotel during holidays so this experience was slightly disappointing.

We really could have not been more pleased by the people that work for the Madison (as a real team) the facilities, the food, the ambience, etc. If all of Memphis businesses had your corporate attitude, top to bottom towards its customers Memphis would be "ON FIRE"!!!! We will definitely be back again, soon!

This is my favorite hotel ever. A perfect combination of understated elegance, perfect cleanliness, beautiful appointments and warm, friendly, helpful staff. Thanks for a nice but short stay!

The Madison is the benchmark for all other hotels we stay at in other cities. It is an excellent hotel and we stay there each time we're in Memphis.
