Montefollonico is a typical Tuscan hill-top town which enjoys a stunning view on Montepulciano, Monticchiello and Pienza. Montefollonico was a Medieval hamlet which marked out the Siennese Republic border. Cut off from the big arterial streets it has kept intact his structure and its timeless atmosphere after centuries. Today, the landscape all around Montefollonico is the same painted on the canvases during the Tuscan Renaissance age. Montefollonico, therefore, not only is the perfect place to start a visit in one of the most beautiful land all over the world, but it is also the right base for a dive into the past to rediscover the lost time.

I chose LA chiusa for my husband's birthday weekend getaway and it did not disappoint. The views from this place are stunning, everything about it is so peaceful. Exactly what we were looking for. The room was great with a nice jetted bathtub, beautiful views from all the windows, their restaurant is amazing! Not only the food but also their staff, so so helpful and friendly. We did the olive oil experience and loved it. We were able to harvest some olives and taste olive oil that they produced only two days prior. The guy they brought in to lead this experience was so entertaining and knowledgeable, made it so fun! Lots of little towns in the surrounding area, we absolutely loved to visit "montepulcianno". We will for sure go back in the summer, we want to enjoy their pool and experience all the fun classes they offer in the summer. Well done LA Chiusa!

It's an amazing property with breathtaking views. We were a group of 5 sister's/cousins and everyone was absolutely blown away. The rooms were quaint and comfortable, especially the beds. The staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautifully maintained. We will be back!

We stayed at four other places around Italy and by far La Chiusa was the best! Loved the location, loved our room accommodations and the cooking class was a blast! We could have easily spent our entire vacation there. Elise, thank you for your generosity and suggestions on where to go and explore. La Chiusa is lucky to have someone like you! Anntoinette, thanks for being an excellent nonna and making our cooking class fun. You can't go the Tuscany without considering this place! We'll be back!

This gem in the hills of Tuscany is absolutely stunning. Our room, built by the Romans maybe 300 AD, was beautiful, with a gorgeous view. Cooking class was fun, truffle hunting was great with our guide and his great dog… the staff was wonderful! Great location too… I can’t say enough good things!

First time on a European trip by myself. This hotel is charming, clean, wonderful food, service and all served with a friendly smile. The people I have come in contact with speak English. For me that was such a plus. I realize I am a visitor, to this country, but the ability to converse is huge. The morning continental breakfast is very varied. Even the pickiest of eaters would find something to eat. You can walk into town from here. Not a ton of things to do there, but it’s a place you can walk to and stop and get something to drink or a sandwich. I would highly recommend coming to this beautiful location.
