Ideal location for rest and relaxation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

A serene and stunning resort that is ideal for relaxation. We came on a business couples trip, which was a decently sized group, but even for a larger group we did not run into each other as often due to how expansive the resort is. The rooms are bungalow style with mostly four in a unit, two on top two on bottom. With all of them facing the ocean and only about 20-30 feet from the beach. The whole weekend we were there we did not see our neighbors or anyone on the beach in front of our room so it was very private. Since the resort has so much space they have bicycle stations all over to get from different sides of the resort faster. So it is definitely a different atmosphere from the all you can eat/drink style resort. Most of the people on resort are enjoying a good book on a beach or a hammock, off at the golf course or strolling through the resort. My favorite spot was the bar on the far east side of the resort that is located on the beach and has swings for chairs. Everyone from our group had recommended the lobster roll from there and it did not disappoint. They also have a swim up bar, tennis courts, and snorkeling rentals so that you can go out on your own. Lots of sea urchins in the area so careful not to step on the lil guys when in the ocean.

The BEST service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The BEST service of any hotel we have been at. We have traveled all over the world. The service here exceeds any place we have been. The Eclipse grounds are beautiful and food is great. Thank you Dean Martin our butler, kevin in room service, Michelle at the pool, Andrea and Sherrian at breakfast. Gregory also giving us fresh coconuts! The chef at Del Mare Claudio is a gastro genius and comes out to speak to so many of his customers. We absolutely love Half Moon, One thing I would suggest to management is think about heating the pool though during the winter/fall/spring months and also a hot tub in the Eclipse area. The hot tub in Cove area is too far from the Eclipse pool. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Expensive food. Jamaica Inn as good/better and much, much better value

Lovely place; nice room; beware of food prices. They are taking us for a ride. And the food prices have become a joke. Keep away. We make a picnic lunch at breakfast to avoid being fleeced twice a day. Breakfast is included but would cost $100 if it wasn't. Dinner last night was very good but having the cheapest possible still exceeded $200 for two. Should never have come here. Oh yes. a 1 hour massage in the spa is $200, 100 everywhere else. Crazy. Taking us all for idiots and leaves a nasty taste.

Excellent hotel with great beach and nod to old world luxury ! Food, service, room were all excellent. The grounds and the biking was a nice touch to explore the full property. The beach is well protected and perfectly clean. Didnt get a chance to play golf- but thats for next time!

Not our first time at Half Moon, nor will it be our last! Perfection!

Half Moon one of her favorite “stays” anywhere in the world. They have relaxation down to an art. We prefer the old part half Moon, Founder’s Cove, the architecture is just so appealing. We had a cottage with a pool, a 15 second walk to the beach. Three minutes the lobby, bars and restaurants. They missed no details. None!

We just returned from a week away at the Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was a top-notch property with deluxe accommodations, supreme service and the most deliciously prepared foods we have ever had on an all-inclusive plan. We both agreed that we would return to Half Moon in a heartbeat.

From the time we got to the Half Moon resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, it was a lot more than advertised. The staff was more than helpful, the accommodations were better than excellent and they even upgraded us to the "royal suite." The food was first class, the choice of restaurants was great, and we enjoyed it so much. If you haven't been to the Half Moon, you really need to go there and witness for yourself why the Queen of England stays there.
