The hotel has been somewhat revived from its dark days of Covid . However still lacks staff and maintenance . The restaurants are very expensive but offer good variety of food The spa is not maintained and not worth visiting unless you booked a service as neither sauna steam room or hot tub work properly . They offer no free food despite advertising it . The only free food was pretzel crumbs and old apples. If you can find tea consider yourself lucky . Outside heated pool was cold . Inside pool was so crowded you couldn’t see water . The Cave had Mac and cheese station for kids which was nice and the princess room had free sweets for the kids which was also a nice touch The rest was just $$$$$ and required reservations which were impossible to get on the phone or online - yet when we got them and arrived to the restaurants the dining room was nearly empty

The pillows are terrible as was the heat. Could not shut off heat in room, maintenance tried and could not fix. We slept with the windows open even though it was 3 degrees outside. Place was very crowded with families, could not use pool as was always filled with lots of kids. Restaurants were good but very difficult getting reservations, We used valet service and not worth the extra money, hard to get our car when needed. Would not return, not worth the money. The views are spectacular and the place very historic but very expensive and not comfortable.

We came with our family of 25 people for my husband's 50th birthday, the service and care for us was outstanding! Anything we requested was taken care of above and beyond. The Nordic night was perfect as well as your spa. God bless your hospitality.

The value for money at this hotel is disappointing, especially when it comes to the food. The presentation is incredibly basic, and the quality of the food does not justify the high prices. The meat dishes are overwhelmed by an excessive amount of cheap vegetables, and the portion sizes of the actual meat are very small. For the prices charged, the quantity and quality are far below expectations. Additionally, the hotel itself is priced at a premium, yet basic amenities such as parking are not included, which feels unreasonable. I have never stayed at a resort where guests are required to pay extra to park their cars. When paying $800-$1500 per night, it seems only natural that parking should be part of the package—especially since it’s essential to park on the premises. To charge guests for parking feels excessive and unfair. Moreover, our booking experience was misleading. We reserved a "mountain view deluxe king room," but our friends were assigned a tiny room in the outdated historic section with a very limited view through a small corner window. This was far from the large bay window depicted on the booking page, making the discrepancy feel deceptive. Fortunately, my family was upgraded to the presidential wing, which was by far the nicest area of the hotel. However, despite this upgrade, we were not granted access to the club lounge, which is typically included with a stay in the Presidential Wing. This felt petty and unnecessarily stingy. At a luxury resort, one would expect a premium experience, but instead, the hotel feels more focused on nickel-and-diming guests at every turn. The overall experience did not align with the high-end prices, leaving us feeling disappointed and undervalued.

As part of our bus tour, we stopped for a buffet dinner and self guided tour of the resort. The buffet was filled with a wide variety of delicious choices. Everywhere you look there are historic items to experience. We were given a handbook to help us through the vast resort. Something for everyone to find and explore
