The Hotel of Hospitality

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 17 hours ago

Our family holiday of 12 days in NY ranks as one of our favourites and The Archer certainly enhanced our experience. From our friendly hello from the Admin staff every time we entered the lobby through to the cheerful housekeepers we relaxed into the comfort of our rooms. Large comfy beds, thoroughly clean rooms, great water pressure and a special complimentary treat each day. Small? Yes. But not squishy. We enjoyed Happy Hour at the rooftop bar just as much as we did in the downstairs bar. Hospitality staff were engaging and attentive. Food was prepared quickly and well presented and the coffee was hot. Both lifts worked quickly and quietly and we were central to many great features of NY. We were fortunate to have met the Managers and the Area Director one afternoon when they met guests in the lobby with a glass of wine and cheese platter. We hope to stay at The Archer again and will definitely be telling our friends in Australia to stay with The Archer when they next travel to USA.

Highly recommend

Stayed here for a week in May 2024, with my daughter. We had a double-double room, super comfy beds. The room was not huge, but it was absolutely fine & had a full wardrobe, luggage counter, desk/counter & chair. Plus suitcase space under the beds - clever use of space. Room was very clean & little treats left for us each day. The location was perfect, we walked for miles in all directions, especially loved walking through Central Park & walking to MoMA and the Met. All the staff were very friendly & we felt very safe here. Very quiet at night as on a side street. Highly recommend. Also if you want a real (Kiwi/Aussie) coffee, Culture Espresso is awesome & 50m to your right!

Solid hotel, but vomit smell

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Overall, the hotel was nice. Clean lobby, great lobby staff. The rooftop is nice with a good view. The rooms are small but that is expected for NYC. Good location to get around. I wish I could give this higher but the hallway by my room and my entire room smell heavily like vomit. The small just got worse and worse each day. Told the cleaning lady, did not help the smell. Could not move rooms so I had to just live in a room that smelled pretty rough. Forunately you are in NYC and you arent in the room much. Would I stay there again? Maybe? Havent decided yet, but likely not. I like clean and this impacted my impression of clean.

Enjoyable stay in midtown. Staff was so helpful , courteous and knowledgeable about any request. Friendly staff. Bed and bedding was so comfortable. Shower was super with plenty of hot water especially after a long day. I would highly recommend this hotel. Restaurant on site and many close by restaurants as well.

Fabulous from start to start

In most popular tourist cities, I expect plenty of hiccups with transportation, accommodation, dining, and more because they can spot tourists from a mile away. But that wasn't the case at the Archer! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The check-in process was smooth, and that level of service continued throughout our stay. I've worked for high-end hotel brands in London that would have charged twice as much for what the Archer offers—but forget London—most places in NYC charge double for half of what you get here. Don't think twice - book the Archer midtown.
