I was in town for business and optimistic about this hotel based on prior reviews. Unfortunately, reality quickly convinced me otherwise. The rooms are tired and in desperate need of a remodel. Torn drapes, cracking and chipping paint. The first room I was given reeked of cleaning products; it was overpowering. The staff was nice enough to switch and upgrade me to a junior suite, but that was right next to the elevator where I heard people coming and going all night. The room sizes are large for a NY hotel, but everything looks old and tired. Bed comfort was ok. I also couldn’t find a single plug to plug in my phone. I had to reach behind the nightstand to unplug a lamp just to be able to use a single phone charger, which is pretty ridiculous for a suite sized room. I won't be coming back.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, and each time they exceed my. Not only is the food very good, but staff is so hospitable and they make you feel right at home. I’m sure you get great curbside service at other places but for some reason, the staff here starting with Walter and Walter make you feel like an old friend. This is not an isolated incident because even though they introduced themselves to me again, I remember them from last time, which is a testament to the level of service they provide. The rooms are incredible other hotels in the Times Square area have very tiny rooms that you can barely navigate around, but everything in here feels like the guest room at an old friend’s house. Whenever I come to New York, this is the only place I will stay and it’s close to everything.

I stayed in Michelangelo for 4 days and I had a fantastic stay. The staff was nice and helpful, always ready to assist. From check-in to check-out, they made sure everything was smooth and comfortable. The room was clean, well-maintained, and had everything I needed. The location was very convenient, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. Highly recommended!

Stayed at the Michelangelo for 3 nights on a business trip in February. Weather in NYC was cold and snowy, which perhaps helped with availability. Had a very nice stay, friendly and helpful staff, great midtown location to head up to Central Park or down towards Bryant Park, excellent overall. Paid for a small upgrade to a slightly larger room, which was worth it, very quiet and off the main corridors. Walther at the front desk was helpful and friendly, though all the staff I interacted with were. Rooms are clean, well kept, and the cleaning staff did a very nice job each day.

We just stayed at the Michelangelo Hotel to celebrate my child's 16th birthday. Walking in the door and seeing the lavish entryway gave my child the "wow" factor! We were delighted by the very clean and comfortable room, the friendly and kind staff, and the scrumptious breakfast. The hotel was very quiet so we could all get a good night's rest. The breakfast area was really a lot of fun, with plush benches and cozy tables. I had the Americano breakfast, which they accommodated to meet my gluten and dairy free needs (eggs, potatoes, bacon, juice, coffee, and gluten free toast) . My husband had the pancakes and my child had the French toast. All the food was exceptional! It was a great place to stay, and we plan on staying there when we visit NYC next time.
