About the Hotel

For decades newlyweds and romantics have flocked to Niagara Falls for memorable getaways. These days they are sequestering themselves behind the doors of the Sterling Inn & Spa, the only boutique hotel to grace this epic region. Built in 1928 and once the home to Bordens Dairy, it was eventually converted into a nightclub and restaurant during the 1980s, and is now part of the Preferred Boutique portfolio and part of the Preferred Hotel Group. Its transition into a hotel started in 2005 with original architectural elements, such as the exposed ceiling beams and three-story milk-bottle entrance, incorporated into the new design. The result is a hybrid hotel combining the best of a luxury resort with the intimacy of a fine inn. Rooms tend to be spacious and thoughtfully appointed with oversize beds, roaring fireplaces, wet bars, and ample-size bathrooms equipped with raining shower heads and body jets. Suites offer not one, but two rooms with sitting areas and plush bedrooms.

Reviews for Sterling Inn & Spa

A Relaxing Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Every year since we retired we plan a little getaway for a couple of days and pamper ourselves and this year we decided to go to Sterling Inn & Spa and had a very nice and relaxing stay. We took advantage of their Spa with a couples massage and my wife took advantage of another service that they provide and we were extremely happy with our spa treatment. The food from their restaurant was second to none. Who ever the Chef is they should be very proud of the quality of their craft. You cannot ask for a better staff to represent their establishment. Everyone was polite, helpful and very accommodating which is very hard to find today. I am sure that we will visit Sterling Inn & Spa in the future.

Overnight getaway

Sterling inn and spa was a wonderful place for us to have a quick getaway. Loved the two-bedroom suite. Beautiful spa tub and rain shower. Breakfast in bed was delicious. Loved the coffee bar in the lobby. Walkable location to many restaurants and attractions. Can't wait to come back to try the spa and restaurant next time!

Romantic and comfortable stay, highly recommend

Had a wonderful weekend getaway at Sterling Inn with my husband. We loved this property and found the staff to be so kind and attentive. The property itself is really cool because it was originally a creamery, and they have preserved some aspects of the building. They have done such a great job with the property, from when you enter you feel welcomed and there is a nice coffee station for guests to use. Rooms here are also so spacious, compared to some other properties I’ve stayed at in the area. Parking is also convenient as it is right in front of the hotel. The rooms with the jacuzzi are so great, and they also have a fireplace. Beds are also so comfortable. Everything is also so clean, and the bathrooms have great basic toiletries. There is also a mini fridge in the room which is always such a plus. Loved that the stays also include complimentary breakfast in bed, this is touch a nice and I wish more places did this. Also, check out was at 12pm which is so great, when most places have check out at 11, you don’t have to be rushing out to check out. There is also a spa on the property, and a restaurant that is open for dinner, the restaurant is so elegant and has farm-to-table dishes, the food here was phenomenal. Everything tasted so fresh, and you could tell special care was put towards the menu curation. The restaurant was so romantic, great music and service, and it was such a nice place to visit for a special meal. Overall I loved this hotel, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The location is perfect because its tucked away where you can enjoy the quiet, but also close enough to the falls to be able to visit as its a 5-10 min drive away.

#1 place to stay in Niagara!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

My husband and I have stayed here twice in the last year and we won't stay anywhere else in Niagara! The staff are professional and courteous. The rooms are very large and spotless, beds super comfortable and fluffy (and I'm a picky sleeper!), and breakfast is such a lovely treat. They have wonderful packages, something for everyone that you can't go wrong. Oh, and don't forget to book your restaurant reservation or your spa service! To die for!

Great hotel with breakfast in bed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Amazing spacious rooms and close to all tourist attractions at the Falls, the breakfast in bed is a great treat, there is a great restaurant on site as well which provided farm to table food options. Parking is not included but there is plenty of space around the hotel where you can park for a fee.
