Situated on 53 acres, high above the Valley, Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain recalls an era when the finest resorts were elegant and intimate. Where ancient native peoples once gathered to make ceremonial offerings to their dieties, this Small Luxury Hotels of the World member offers today's kindred spirits an ambience of serenity and spirituality. In the desert-meets-manmade-oasis known as Scottsdale, Sanctuary's magnificent recreational facilities are equaled only by its locale.

Save your money and go anywhere else. I’ve been to AZ four times. Outdated hotel, insane prices ($22 for avocado toast and i accidentally opened a small sunscreen for $36), sub par restaurant and uncool bar. - Views are blocked - Over cooked my steak - Kids at their one pool - Men’s sauna room broken - Lawn guy blowing leaves every day at 730 am - Hollow rooms so heard my neighbors yelling - Dogs roaming I could go on. But maybe you have real low standards like the other people that stayed here.

Unbelievable views and dining! We had the best time sitting on the patio with the fire table and hanging out in the infinity edge spa! We loved our stay so much we only left the villa for golf and an atv tour, all of which was coordinated by the incredible concierge at the resort!

Mweh...We decided to get away for Christmas and possibly New Year 2024. We rented Spa Patio Casita King and it was nice and very clean. We also loved the view of Camelback Mountain. The furniture and bathroom cabinetry have that "tired" look, though and need upgrading. It would be nice to have soft close drawers. As it is now, you close one drawer and the other one opens due to the air push. The shower enclosure is badly designed, because it has a glass partition between the tub and shower, however the shower head is in the open area where there is no glass. It would make so much more sense to have a shower head on the opposite wall where the glass partition shields from water splashing onto the bathroom floor. The Christmas Dinner was a disaster. They were oversold and this always results in poor service. Our reservation was for 6:30, but we didn't get the table until 7pm. That's not so bad, considering that it was Christmas. What was unacceptable though, was us sitting at the empty table for the next half an hour. We noticed 3 waiters huddled together in a corner, while we tried to get their attention. Unfortunately, we were sitting next to a big family table and I guess, they got all of the attention. Once the food started being served, they omitted one of the courses. (it was pre-set menu). Eventually it was brought over and everything resumed ok. We were finally done with dinner at 9:30 pm. The food was good, but the service was bad and it makes the whole experience very disappointing. What makes it even worse is that the management must realize this and that is why they make 20% tip mandatory on a bill. We have no problem tipping more than 20% for a good service, but this just didn't sit well with us. Again, this may not be the waitstaff fault, I'm sure that otherwise they are very good servers, they were just overwhelmed. I think it was the management's ambition to sell more dinners that caused this fiasco. We decided that instead of subjecting ourselves to a repeat situation on New Years, it's better to leave early and this is what we did.

Gorgeous view and amazing staff in the villa paz. Food and accommodation were excellent and the indoor outdoor patio made the experience that much more special. Paz means peace and this villa definitely brought us peace. Thank you for a beautiful stay and a memorable week.

Excellent quality resort. Very rarely do I give out 5 stars but the stay was exceptional. Room was perfect. I’m recuperating from an injury and needed help during my stay and the staff was excellent. Small complaints. Sanctuary is away from it all so you don’t just pop down to a restaurant or store. A bit to get around. The onsite dining is very high end. With very high end prices. Where’s the pizza and burgers? In general I detest the extras on your final bill. Resort fees when you pay these nightly prices? Makes me see red. Include it in the nightly rate or get rid of the charge. I would stay again. But I would plan better for off resort meals.

Just returned from a trip that included a four-night package at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. The level of service cannot be overestimated. At the pool it took no more than two minutes for someone to bring glasses of ice water with lemon - every chaise was covered with a lounge cover and a fresh towel waiting under an opened umbrella. The quality of the food was exceptional as well. I cannot tell you what a splendid experience this was. Thanks for the opportunity!
