Really Nice Resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Really nice resort. The layout and parking is a challenge at first, but you can figure it out very quickly. The breakfast is outstanding. Fresh fruit, great muffins, eggs, omelettes, etc. Andrew, our server for breakfast was great. He made our experience fun and the service was outstanding

Dated and needs a refresh

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Stayed here for work while in the Phoenix area and had a mixed experience. The setting was beautiful - close to the mountains in the area. Given all the hills the staff is more than willing to cart you up to your room with luggage, which I appreciated. The staff I interacted with were lovely! The pools and pool decks looked nice but didn’t use them given the work trip. On the downside, my room was not overly clean when I arrived - crumbs etc on the couch and floor. My room was outfitted oddly - the second queen bed blocked about 1/2 the doorway into the bedroom (not convenient for luggage and middle of the night trips to the bathroom). Guests with mobility issues would really struggle here with buildings all separate in the hills, uneven pavement. Food was mixed - pizza room service (definitely would skip! Not good), coffee shop only open one day we were there, A Point in Thyme - middle of the road restaurant in terms of quality and price, A Diffferent Point of View - amazing food and views!! It was nice to have options. Maybe this would have been better if going for vacay and not work?!? I think I would try something else when in town next time. All in all, this resort is really dated and needs some TLC.

Not too bad

For the most part we enjoyed our stay here. Took advantage of the amenities like pickle ball and got bikes for mountain biking. Went to the golf range the guys at the golf center were super friendly and helpful. The pools were awesome liked the relaxing vibe. They tout their restaurants but seemed to always have private events and tough to get reservations at a decent hour at the Different point of view . Did eat at the pointe in time restaurant and did not care for the food and had terrible service felt totally ignored there. If you have trouble walking this is probably not the place for you as it being on a mountain there are many inclines but they do offer shuttles if you want to wait. The place is dated but clean. Our room had some stains on the couch and carpet but overall was pretty clean. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. Would I stay again? Probably.

Golf Trip Centralized Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Took a golf trip with 8 total guys to the Phoenix area. We chose Tapatio because it was centralized and we were playing Lookout Mountain one day. The rooms were well set up for 2 guys per room with 2 queen beds and a separate sitting room. It was very clean and well-maintained. The only negative I could come up with is no microwaves in the room. We utilized the pool area and bar a couple of afternoons and those were very clean and not too overpriced for drinks. We ate lunch onsite one day after lunch and the food was really good and service was great.
