I’m a frequent traveler and a titanium elite with Marriott. Here’s a summary of the things I liked and things I didn’t like during my stay: Things I liked: - Beautiful views - Some very friendly staff - excellent Thai food Things I didn’t like: - No blackout curtains; didn’t sleep well due to light coming in in the morning; - AC too loud; AC light too bright at night; - in the Villa, there is AC only in the Bedroom; no AC in corridor, toilet, vanity area and wardrobe area; - as I was welcomed, and taken to my villa by Irene, she asked me at least 3 to 4 times why I was traveling by myself; I gave several vague brief answers and then she just kept on pushing and asking; I said things like, oh well it is what it is, better alone than not going on vacation at all, etc., and to my big surprise, she kept on asking the same question, “but why are you by yourself?” it made me feel very uncomfortable and like solo female travelers, such as myself are not welcome at this property; what response does a staff member expect to get when they ask the question, why are you here by yourself? Do they also ask couples, why are you here together? Why did you come to the property together? I find it rude to ask the same question more than once when they see that the person gives a brief response unwillingly, and it is also rude to ask why someone travels alone; - found a lizard in my bathrobe, and a second lizard in the restroom. Overall, this is a nice property that has potential, but it needs a good revamp and much more staff training. Based on my experience at the property as well as my experience with Marriott, in my opinion, this property is more suitable to be part of Design Hotels or Autograph collection, not the luxury collection. There is nothing luxurious about not being able to sleep due to lights - blackout curtains are standard nowadays, untrained staff repeatedly asking uncomfortable questions, finding lizards inside the villa, loud AC, etc.

The experience was incredible. The hotel and the island were breathtaking. Every aspect of the island was unique and captivating, and the island’s history was beautifully narrated. The staff was exceptionally friendly, from the security personnel to the General Manager, David, who was one of the kindest and most helpful individuals I’ve ever encountered. I want to express my special gratitude to Penny and the entire staff.

We spent a memorable, relaxing and amazing 5 nights at the resort in a beach front villa. We loved the story that was associated with the island. The resort met and exceeded expectations in most if not all areas. The staff were all friendly and helpful from restaurant, recreation, cleaners, maintenance, security, etc. Special thanks too Maan, Bank who took hospitality to the next level. Also thank you to Mai, Noey, Punch, Emmy and Game who looked after us during breakfast and dinner. I am also truely amazed how well trained the “trainee” staff were. We had an amazing villa overlooking the Sea with direct beach access and our own pool and sauna. The room was a great size. The area for improvement was having AC for the adjoining bathroom, which they mentioned were planned to be upgraded. I’d also change the shower head to a monsoon shower head as part of the upgrade. However, all in all the villa was perfect. Private, quiet and close enough (walking distance) to all the action if you wanted a break from the peace and serenity of your Villa and private beach. We booked two private muythai sessions with Dom and Rocky and they did not disappoint. Good technical training and cardio workout. I recommend a private session if you do get out. Thanks Dom and Rocky! The gym had all the equipment you needed. We mainly dinned at the Tonsai restaurant which was perfect. Really good Thai food - soft shell crab curry and stir fry were the highlights with the prawn sarong a great appetiser. Breakfast did not disappoint with the options. I’d recommend the noodle bar and omelette station with a coffee and prosecco. Also the seafood pizza for the villa! The main beach and pool are great spots for family and couples. Big enough to be privacy and quiet time and safe for kids with recreation facility that provides floaties. You can also buy swim gear the the boutique. You can explore around the island outside the resort, but I recommend just staying at the resort and making the most of the facilities and view. My child enjoyed kids club and she can’t wait to work there apparently!?! There are a few areas for minor enhancements to be the best, but confident this resort can and will get there with the right team which they have on board. Thank you again for the wonderful experience and memories!

Naka Island is the perfect blend of luxury and exclusivity. Accessible only by speedboat, this resort has everything you need to never leave the island—delicious food, a serene spa, and stunning luxury villas. The staff is incredibly attentive, and thoughtful touches like a packed breakfast for my early excursion made the experience extra special. Perfect for families and couples planning to stay on the island. Be mindful of the boat fees after certain hours. This resort is a dream come true for anyone seeking true relaxation and pampering.
