About the Hotel

The only thing that rivals the natural beauty surrounding The Naka Phuket is the architecture designed to enhance it. The resort is stunning – so stunning that it won Best New Hotel in Wallpaper’s 2014 Design Awards – and its mountainous location on the west side of Phuket is far away from city lights. Here the ocean glimmers through the seemingly endless glass expanse of the minimally designed villas, where teak, granite and concrete give them a cool, industrial feel.

Christmas Break 2024

Stayed over Christmas 2024 ina Signature High Bay Pool Villa room, which provided excellent sunset views, from the balcony and the pool. Rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel's beach is fantastic for snorkelling as it's set within a coral reef, so although you can still swim, it's best done at high tide. The hotel is set up within a cliffside, so be prepared to requests buggys to take you around the hotel. The hotel is in an isolated place and is not somewhere you can walk in and out of, so be prepared to have to pay for taxi's, to get you to anywhere and in Phuket for the distance covered are expensive. Kamala Beach and Patong Beach are the nearest locations , approx 2 to 3 miles away and the price was approx 400 to 450 baht each way. Staff were friendly , provided a great service, and if you want to get away from it all, and relax on the beach, with none of the crowds , is the place to stay.

I strongly advise anyone considering a visit to Phuket not to include this hotel as an option.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The reception staff were unhelpful, and the rooms were not prepared until 3:30 PM without any apology or explanation. The bathroom was poorly designed, as water leaked outside the shower, creating a mess. Additionally, the air conditioner was malfunctioning, dripping water onto our luggage. The cleanliness of the rooms was unacceptable, and basic amenities like bathrobes and towels were not provided unless specifically requested. To make things worse, the buffet was very limited, offering little variety. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel where the snake lives

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Booked for 4 nights and 5 days 1. Reception Arrival: Outdoor reception/even on a mountaintop, the surrounding area is asphalt, so it's very hot/welcome drinks taken out of the cold bag, not the refrigerator, were canned water. 2. Arrive at the room: It's as old as the year / It's a pool villa for a reason why it's relatively inexpensive / The cleaning of walls and shower handles, tables, remote controls, switches, etc. is messy, sticky to the touch 3. staff who are less skilled at breakfast restaurants Arriving at the breakfast restaurant, the guy who wears blue polo shirt ushers us into our seats. I brought food and found an iPhone on the spot. I told another staff (beige traditional outfit) that this was my seat but the iPhone was not mine, but suddenly a Chinese man said it was his seat. Because I came first and was guided first, the staff in the beige shirt picked up the iPhone on the table so I thought it was my seat, then he told me to move. I moved the food I brought myself though it was the mistake of the hotel. The staff in the blue shirt who made thw mistake disappeared without an apology. No one in the breakfast staff apologizes. When I calm down, I proceed with the meal, and then I noticed that as soon as the other guests are shown to the seat, they were asked what kind of coffee they will have by the breakfast staff but I have never heard anything about it. I had to call the staff and order the coffee myself. When I complained to the reception, the reception said that the food manager came to apologize but I didn't need it (what's the point of the manager apologizing? I'm already offended and maybe the training is wrong in the first place) 4. Facility problem (1) Wi-Fi not connected on arrival When I called the reception, a male employee came to the room and said that the Wi-Fi machine didn't have a green light, so he would fix it tomorrow (I thought this hotel didn't do the basic maintenance), I asked again the next day, saying that it was a problem for the whole area and that it would be Wi-Fi now. (2) The air conditioner is so old that the machine is just the fan with strong winds/performance is low that the temperature does not go down, and the bedroom has an air conditioner right above my head, so I have a swollen throat rest in Southeast Asia Facility problem (3) An ant, an ant, an ant, an ant, an ant There are ants in the sink, an ant in the table, an ant in the floor, an ant in the tissue, an ant in my bag I've been preparing for mosquitoes because of bug allergies, but I can't even think about preparing for ants. The room says to be patient for the environment, but just in case, I asked about ants and they said they'd do my preservative first when the hiper-hygiene (?) approval is now being pushed back. (So that service is only for those who ask, but not for those who are patient? Shouldn't such a clean service be applied to all rooms?) Even after that service, ants still grow Facility problem (4) Facilities? Considering the price of the pool villa, accept it. Ant? No problem if you don't mind On the third day at this hotel, when I came back to my room after breakfast, and there was a green 70cm snake in the front yard of the private pool. When I screamed in surprise, the snake also went towards the room door, but the door was closed, so it went into a very small hole under the floor. Panic from this point on. Going into a very small hole means it can go in anywhere, it could be a room or inside my luggage. And this hotel has a wooden floor, but it's old, so the wooden door doesn't fit perfectly with the door frame (the most expensive room with a high bay signature, for your information). It was a snake with a long, small head and thin enough to fit into it. Originally, this place was nature, and originally, snakes were landowners and humans were brought in, so I try to understand. But the problem was the hotel's response. Call the reception. The male employee held a long snake catching stick (from the fact that there was such a stick to the snake, it was not just once or twice), and he looked down the floor with a flash of his phone a few times and couldn't communicate in English and just went away. When I called the reception again and asked what I should do, they asked me if I want to change rooms, but since this is the snake habitat, that means I can see it in any place in this hotel. And that'it. No feedback. No one came. Later, it turned out that the person who came to catch the snake earlier was the hotel security guard. Other Southeast Asian hotels usually catch snakes and move them to other places or spray anti-snake medicine around, but there is no action here. There is no contact. No matter how poisonous a snake is, the thickness that can go anywhere and the fear is maximized as it goes into a small hole. I packed like crazy and searched for another hotel on the beach, not the mountain where this hotel is located, for 30 minutes, and asked the reception to check out even though there are two nights left after making a reservation. They said they could change the room again. I thought they don't understand the point of the problem Wherever snakes can come out, preventive measures are needed in every room, but they say they will change the room, only for me who saw the snake. When I moved to the reception to check out, the first message from the hotel was to sign a non-refundable memorandum. "I am checking out for my personal reasons and telling you not to get a refund." I signed it because I didn't need it all in a panic. Then they asked if I need to call a taxi to another hotel (because of my personal reasons? now I reconsider were they really my personal reason?) The hotel I originally wanted to go to was fully booked, so I chose the alternative, the naka, but there is a reason why the price is low. From start to finish, there wasn't a single good thing. I wrote down the fact that it happened, it's up to you to decide this hotel.
