No sooner had my Lyft driver handed off my luggage to me than the welcoming and efficient Christopher whisked me into the lobby where I was quickly checked in. I was impressed by being offered a bottle of water by Chris before he handed me off to the front desk. I was tired after a long travel day and all this was very much appreciated. On my way out the next afternoon, Chris was pleasantly manning the door again. He is just the kind of person you want to be greeted by. This was my second time at the Fairmont. A great location, especially for the Heinz Hall concert I was attending. A short walk to Market Square which had its Christmas Market in full swing. Steps away from a bus stop if Oakland is on your agenda and a couple of blocks from the T which will take you to the North Shore: stadiums, Science Museum, Casino. The room was clean and comfortable. Throughout my stay the carpeted hallway was kept clean. A nice assortment of teas and coffee. The safe standard size, iron and ironing board, robes and slippers. I especially like the tub/shower set up if you need both. Nice big towels. The room did show some signs of wear which I photographed. I would have liked a luggage rack and a few more hangers; there were enough for one but not two. I also like an alarm clock in case my phone dies, so I missed having one. Room was quiet and had a nice view. I'm looking forward to my next stay.

A Terrible Experience – Avoid This Hotel This place is a complete dump. It is disgustingly dirty and in desperate need of renovation. The rooms are filthy, outdated, and lacking basic amenities like lotion, water glasses, slippers, and even a bag for dirty clothes. For the price, this hotel is not worth even $100 a night. The staff is untrained and unprofessional. When we arrived, the valet told us they were “too busy” to park our car. When I informed the front desk staff about this, they simply shrugged it off and said, “Yeah, they’re busy.” It’s clear that customer service and cleanliness are not priorities here. This experience was so disappointing that I would never stay here again. Don’t be fooled by any positive reviews—they’re likely fake. Stay far away from this hotel. If the management cares about their reputation, they should take immediate action to address the condition of the property and train their staff properly. Until then, I strongly recommend avoiding this place altogether.

The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the location is fantastic. I stay at Fairmonts across the globe and was very impressed by this particular property. I can't wait to come back!!

Downtown Pittsburgh is fun, and the Fairmont is a beautiful hotel with outstanding service in the heart of it. The food, spa and room service are all great. Check out was the easiest I've ever experienced. I recommend this hotel to anyone for business or pleasure

Pros: Good location. Rooms were not too expensive. Can be improved: There is no self parking. You have to valet and there is no space for you to pull your car in. However, the valet service was very efficient. Cons: The front desk staff can be quite snobbish and non approachable depending on who it was. They didn't offer water and I had to ask for it.
