Sofitel Rio De Janeiro Ipanema

I returned to the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro for a two week stay in December. I stayed in an oceanfront king room. I’ve reviewed this hotel in the past and have given it top marks. I’m pleased to say the Fairmont continues to excel on all fronts. The hotel is nicely maintained. Staff are welcoming and always aim to please. Lots of smiles at this hotel. The breakfast buffet is typical Brazilian fare with lots of choices. I do wish they’d change it up a bit instead of the same foods everyday. Maybe an Asian breakfast section just to mix it up? The morning and afternoon swimming pools are fun to lounge by and the evening’s poolside live entertainment tends to be of very high quality. I think the Fairmont has the best hotel gym in all of Rio. General manager Netto Moreira continues to run a tight ship and it shows.

This is one the best hotels in Rio. The location is almost at the end of the coastline Ipanema, close to top restaurants, shopping centers and the beach. The area is safer than other parts of rio and it is a real 5-star hotel to stay. Breakfast is perfect, staff is good and the lobby is spacious. There is also a small swimming pool and spa which is good.

Great service by Helal he is very helpful person and he take care our room very well and clean is perfect hotel is wonderful from our room to view awesome highly recommended sofitel we come back next year good testing food thanks to housekeeping Helal one again

We did a lot of research before choosing this hotel. It is right on the beach, has excellent service, and great food. The location of the hotel is perfect - countless exellent restaurants in walking distance. Rooms with an ocean view are worth it. Our rooms were literally like haning over the ocean. We loved watching like on Ipanema Beach from sunrise to shut down in the wee hours. Would definitely choose this hotel again. There are dozens of choices. This is a gem.

Had a wonderful time here in April 2019. Service was superb, especially from Pedro, the Guest Relations Coordinator. Who else would go out of their way to help me purchase some football jerseys for some friends? Pedro, a true amigo and football fan. The Caipirinhas upstairs were as expected, of Brazilian quality, that is very good. Great views and food. Downstairs you will have all the help you require for tours and transport. Some great memories! Sadly I believe it has shut now???
