Great hotel and location if you want to be near the water/bay. Close to the Midway Ship Museum and Seaport Village (for shopping). It's a fairly easy drive to Coronado Island and La Jolla for other activities. The King Bed Studio room was very spacious and had a great view. Service was good, room clean, no complaints.

Great location, very walkable to most popular points. We loved the perks; bike and kayak rentals and harbor cruise tickets. Nice pool and gym and wonderful views! Cool bar and restaurant at the top of the hotel looking over the city. We would definitely recommend this property for your stay in San Diego!

I will say this hotel surprised me. First off, I've stayed at a lot of hotels in San Diego and this one I believe had the most amenities. Granted this hotel does charge a "destination fee" per night but it does come with perks like 1 hour free boat ride, 1 hour bike rentals, and 1 hour kayak rentals. They had a few pickle ball courts, pools and basketball courts. They even had an outdoor movie night (it was an extra cost) but still a fun option available. Movie with a nice skyline view. It is a large hotel, that wants to be a resort but just misses the mark. Room: 3.5/5 it was modern, but it did show signs of aging (peeling wallpaper, bangs along the walls. But the most part it was clean and spacious, we also were upgraded to a nice marina view so that was a plus. Location: 5/5 it was nice to take a stroll down the Marina, little shops and restaurants right outside too. Also quick 5-7 minute uber ride to Little Italy and Gas Lamp. You could probably walk to those areas, but I personally wouldn't just because like every major city homelessness is an issue and while most mind themselves, I'm just extra cautious Parking: 3/5 The structure was pretty full and the spaces were tight with lots of large cars parking in "compact spaces" biggest bummer was the elevator was slow so we just took the stairs no big deal A couple of things that bugged me during our trip, 1. the check in line was ridiculous at 2pm. Granted this was a holiday weekend and I think there was a wedding but it was extremely long. I don't like that we had the option to check in through the app but we still had to wait in line for the keys. 2. We visited the gift shop and I found it very odd that the man working in the store kept following us around. There were other people who came in but for some strange reason it was like he was watching us? Just got a weird vibe. Overall, I'd give this place a 3.5 out of 5. Just slightly above average. In terms of quality and price I do think that there are better hotels in the area, but I can see the allure if you are traveling with family and want a very centralized location with many thing to do. For couples, if you are trying to have a romantic getaway I'd probably pick somewhere a little quieter. That being said, if the price were right I'd be open to staying here again.

Imagine paying $500/night on the 40th floor and your heater doesn’t work. And to top it off they send an engineer who knows how long after calling to fix it and he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Bath time was terrible for my toddler as we couldn’t warm the room. Went to sleep cold and woke up cold.

This is our second year staying at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego and we were just as pleased as our first visit. The staff are always so inviting, friendly, and attentive and the rooms are clean and well updated. Aside from the amenities and perks that the hotel has to offer it is also centrally located to the marina, multiple popular restaurants and coffee spots. We are returning next year for another conference and i will be delighted to return for another stay.
