Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel

Perfect location near Union Square- 5 minute walk from Macy’s and some great cafes and restaurants Reception is plush, staff were professional but not especially friendly (apart from the concierge guys at the door) This wasn’t a negative for us - we like to be left alone! Room was not the most spacious but perfectly laid out and equipped so well and very clean. We were there a week bedding wasn’t changed but housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Housekeeping staff were all very polite. Hotel was moderately quiet . Noise in corridors travelled a little. We were not disturbed hugely though. Restaurant food was nice but very basic and just presented well. Did not try breakfast just dinner. Well located for tourist attractions Recommend open top bus tour Cable car stops just outside to take you to Fisherman’s Wharf but it’s also walkable in about 35 minutes. Overall would recommend this hotel It is very comfortable.

Exceptional stay in the heart of San Francisco We had a wonderful experience at the Beacon Grand. Right from check-in, the first impression was spot on. A special shout-out goes to JOJIT at the front desk, who was incredibly professional, welcoming, and above all, patient with every request we had. Great service sets the tone for an entire trip, and he made us feel at home immediately. The property itself is stunning. The lobby and restaurant are truly grand, elegant, warm and inviting atmosphere. Ourroom was spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The location simply cannot be beaten..just 2 steps away from Union Square 😃 All in all, a fantastic stay. We would definitely stay here again!

had a wonderful stay at the Beacon Grand and can’t say enough good things about it. The decor is stunning, the location is unbeatable, and every detail of the property reflects real care and attention. What truly made my stay exceptional, though, was the front desk staff. They went above and beyond at every turn to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of. I want to give a special shout out to Alejandro, who was consistently helpful, attentive, and genuinely warm throughout my stay. That kind of service makes all the difference. Between the beautiful hotel and the outstanding team, this was a memorable stay. Highly recommend.

We had stayed at the Beacon Grand 4 years ago and loved it so this visit to San Francisco we didn't look at any other hotels. The location just off Union Square is perfect. The rooms are spacious, staff extremely helpful, cleanliness exceptional and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Being British we requested a kettle and this was supplied promptly! The hanging space is very small but hanging rails are available. The rail was suggested 4 years ago year by the porter so we asked for one this time again supplied promptly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location but that’s about it! Really you just pay a lot of money to be where you are. The room I stayed in had light bulbs that were out, the paint wasn’t too appealing, there was a power outlet that was out in the bathroom. I asked the front desk for two wine glasses right when we checked in and never received them at all after being told they’d send some right up. Overall just way over priced. Even for San Fransisco.
