Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel

I wanted to write a new review because TripAdvisor would not allow me to edit my original one from last July 10th. During our stay at the Beacon Grand, we experienced several issues that affected what should have been a wonderful visit. My parents were also initially assigned a room that was much smaller than expected, and the bathroom flooded during their stay. Fortunately, the hotel addressed the situation by moving them to much better room. The most upsetting was discovering when we got back home, that my power strip had disappeared from my suitcase. Although these situations were disappointing, I believe it is just as important to recognize outstanding customer service when a hotel is genuinely committed to making things right. After our stay, General Manager Sebastien Pfeiffer personally reached out to me. From our very first conversation, he was kind, respectful, and genuinely interested in understanding what had happened. He stayed in touch throughout the entire process, kept me informed, and worked hard to reach a fair resolution. More importantly, I always felt that he truly cared about our experience and wanted to restore our confidence in the hotel. Everyone can encounter problems while traveling, but what really defines a hotel is how it responds. Sebastien's professionalism, empathy, and dedication completely changed my perception of the Beacon Grand. I would also like to mention that one of the hotel's greatest strengths is its outstanding location. It is perfectly situated in Union Square, making it easy to explore San Francisco's main attractions, restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. Thank you, Sebastien, for your exceptional customer service and for demonstrating that your guests truly matter. Because of your efforts, I would gladly consider staying at the Beacon Grand again.

The Beacon Grand has a great location for getting around SFO. The Hotel is very regal and has been renovated beautifully. The renovated rooms are done tastfully and the bedding is very comfortable. I would recommend a visit to their Starlight Room to have a cocktail. Booking with "FORA Travel advisor Liz Spiletic" was easy and she was able to Upgrade our room , plus gives us 2 tickets for cocktails , and 2 tickets for breakfast as well as a $50 hotel credit tone used at Hotel for food and or beverage, plus a late checkout! highly recommend

My first stay, I felt comfortable and truly welcomed from the start with the staff helping me with my timing problem. The room was perfect, the dining room has a simple well-priced lunch menu. Service was fast in the evening as well. I would say quietly efficient and friendly overall. Thank you for your support for Bastille Day celebrations. I now have a favorite place in San Francisco.

It's rare to find a hotel that can strike the perfect balance between vintage charm and modern amenities. In fact, I think we've always had to choose one or the other when we come to SF (and we come a lot!). Beacon Grand was the first hotel that balanced both beautifully. We will certainly be back again. one thing, house keeping never came during our stay (and yes, we made sure to take our DND sign off the door handle). We recognize that times are hard right now and many people are experiencing short staffing so we figured it was that. We just really love/appreciate coming back to a nice clean room and a freshly made bed when we are traveling! So that was a tiny bummer. But otherwise it was a truly incredible stay and we can't wait to visit again.
