Why stay at a hotel when you can stay at a legend? Combining historic, Renaissance-influenced architectural splendor that includes an opulent lobby, sky-high ceilings and a sweeping staircase begging for grand entrances, Kimpton Sir Francis Drake is where vintage glamour and the ideal Union Square location intersect.

The Beacon Grand is my hands down favorite place to stay in San Francisco! My husband and I have stayed there 4 times already and we are planning our 5th visit this summer. The staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are beautiful, and the food and drinks are always good. On one visit we messed up our plans by a day and they graciously accommodated us. On another visit I left things in a drawer and they made the process of getting my things as easy as possible. On both occasions, when our needs were a result of our own failures (lol), the staff kindly and without reservation did all they could to help. We have loved learning about the history of the building and enjoy the way they've updated the space. We can't wait to visit again!

Very small rooms, closet was ten inches wide, bathroom had on shelf that was 4 x 16 in. perfect size to put a hair brush and toothpaste tube but nothing else. No full length mirror.

Alejandro is THE BEST! Also, we have the same birthday - so fun! Poor guy was working on his bday because everyone called off and he still showed up - RESPECT. Thank you for all of your accommodations, recommendations and warm hospitality. 10/10!

My family loves this hotel. We always feel very taking care of by the staff, the food and drinks are amazing, and it's proximity to everything is ideal! We always feel at home when we stay here and will definitely be back!

Beacon Grand is a lovely, cute hotel very close to Union Square in San Francisco. Location is fabulous, with bunch of restaurants etc around. Hotel has the charm of old building, built in 1928, however everything is very functional. For example, the life has a wooden decor (very uncommon in newer hotels today), however there are 4 of those, and I did not face any delays in moving in, out and around in the hotel. Room sizes bit small but no issue for short trips.
