Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel

That hotel was beautiful! The restaurant at the hotel was terrible. BUT we were taken care of by an excellent staff who were so kind and helpful that we would definitely stay there again! A special thanks to Alex who assisted us with our every need with professionalism, courtesy and charm! Also a shout out to Pablo and the the elegant doorman who saved us a couple of times from some busy traffic. All in all a very good experience!

I come to the city often and always stay at the Beacon Grand. I travel frequently for business, which sometimes brings me in early or requires flexibility with the length of my stay, and the staff are consistently beyond helpful. They always go out of their way to accommodate changes and make everything seamless. The bartenders are wonderful, and the drinks are consistently excellent. The renovation of the Starlight Room is hands down the best renovation in the neighborhood. I’m so happy to see the space overflowing again and restored to its former glory. The location is perfect, with easy walking access to everything I want to see and do around Union Square. The valet staff are kind and attentive, and at the front desk, Walli and Alma are truly exceptional, personable, attentive, and genuinely kind, as are everyone I interact with at the hotel. I will always stay at the Beacon Grand when I’m in town. It’s my favorite hotel in the city.

We had a wonderful four‑day stay. The rooms were clean, modern, and stylish, and the hotel overall was quiet and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and always open to requests. Special kudos to concierge Leif Amram, whose attentive guidance made our holiday visit exceptional—offering great recommendations, helping us enjoy local events, and ensuring we stayed in safe, welcoming areas. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Great location! We could walk or catch an Uber easily to everywhere we wanted: Shopping, theaters and restaurants. Service was prompt, informative but no sales pitch. Got checked in early so we were able to drop off our bags and start seeing the city. We had a regular double queen room which was very clean, had a small bathroom but was perfect for our needs. Foyer felt very glamorous and was updated with new furniture during our stay. This will always be my go to hotel as it's so close to Union Square. We walked to the Orpheum theater one night (20 mins away) but was easily able to catch an Uber to Hayes and Fillmore (shopping) and to the Civic center area for more shows. The hotel has a lovely old, grand feel about it and was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Alex (valet) was excellent. He went back to our car & brought up clothes that were in backseat-friendly & quick. Excellent service
