We chose El Encanto resort because it was dog friendly and had individual bungalows which we chose for extra privacy. In room dining was wonderful and the food delicious, we ate on our private patio. Staff was incredibly welcoming, especially to our dog. The grounds were lovely, but be aware the hotel is located in a hilly neighborhood and walking into downtown isn’t recommended. But they do provide complimentary car shuttle service you can reserve. The bungalow was spacious and well appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We were only there for one night with our dog, so didn’t have a chance to visit the spa or the restaurant, but dogs are allowed on the upper dining terrace. All in all, it was a delightful experience.

We stayed for two nights in August and had a wonderful experience. Valet and reception were attentive and we were upgraded to a lovely top floor villa room with a big balcony. The room was charming and well maintained, with every modern amenity you can imagine. We ate one night at the hotel which was fine, but not amazing, and the only real minor issue here is service at dinner and for breakfast is very slow. The pool was fabulous, always with bed availability, despite its small size. A real classic gem that we hope to come back to soon.
