Verdura Resort

First the good... overall the staff is incredibly attentive and do a very good job of making your entire stay feel special - the Bar Granita Mixology crew really shines (thanks especially to Marco!). The location and views are absolutely amazing. Now the downside... I would not rate this as a 5-star resort. The saltwater wear and tear shows around the property and it could use a facelift, especially in the shared areas and the spa. Additionally, after paying 200 euros for a round of golf, a cart and clubs, the golf clubs had dried dirt and grass caked on them. When my husband asked for something to clean them with, he was told he could buy a golf towel in the pro shop. The drought conditions are all on Mother Nature, but the dirty clubs are on the golf staff.

Unfortunately we had only a one night stay at this lovely hotel and golf resort in Sciacca. The property is spacious and beautiful - overlooking the ocean - perfect value for money - the kind which is unheard of in a lot of countries. The shops on the premises are lovely and so is the restaurant - Zagara. I think we had our best meal at Zagara during this entire Sicily trip - the freshest salt crusted sea bass, beef fillet with béarnaise sauce and melt in your mouth pumpkin ravioli with truffle shavings. A big shout out to Fredrica at Zagara for making our meal so memorable! She was the sweetest, along with the rest of the staff members at Zagara restaurant. Thanks team! I have now started to believe in the consistency and performance of Rocco Forte hotels. The service, the rooms, the baths - they are all perfect - top class luxury that is hard to find at a reasonable price anywhere else in the world. The husband too enjoyed a fun round of golf at the course with blue skies and blue sea. The breakfast spread is nice too - they served us fresh orange juice from their gardens - what a treat. We were sad to leave in just a day!

Verdura resort is a wonderful place! Location is awesome, the SPA is phenomenal including all the treatments, tennis center is fantastic! Marco at the tennis center is wonderful!! The only mark against the experience is the average quality of the food served which should be improved to garner the 5th star. Other than that is a must stay

Stayed at Verdura Resort for 6 nights on a golf tour with 3 others, playing 4 rounds of golf on the West & East courses. Challenging golf courses, excellent hotel facilities & first class service, good choice of restaurants. Thinking we might go again next year.

We had a great stay at the Verdura resort with our family. The facilities are very good and we enjoyed some organized activities like wine tasting, ceramics class and a visit to Palermo. The service was outstanding; special thanks to Filippo from the front office.
