I honestly could not care what a hotel looks like, but this hotel was stunning and spacious. The place was super clean and every piece of furniture was selected with purpose. It is an extremely beautiful hotel, the workers are extremely pleasant. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bedding was fresh and no surprise hairs in the sheets. The only warning I have, is be very careful when transferring in and out of the shower. I almost fell every single time and I’m not sure how anyone above the age of 60 has not broken their hip. Nevertheless I was very impressed with my stay here and I would stay here again. It is a bit of an inconvenient location to get to when I arrived from the airport as there was a lot of traffic. I recommend that you do not do what I do and get off mid taxi ride only 300 m away to get to the hotel thinking you can walk the distance. It was uphill with my baggage. The location is a 5 minute walk to the tram station. It is also uphill. I learned my lesson and I asked the front desk to order me a taxi on my return trip. Plenty of restaurants in the area but I was not impressed. I did not try the dinner offered in the hotel. I did try the breakfast and the service was excellent but I’m just not a big breakfast fan. I did try the spa service and massage was good too although a bit pricy. All in all despite my complaints I really enjoyed my stay here and it is one of the best properties I have stayed in and I would definitely recommend it for people looking for a place to stay

Stayed here late September- not been to Istanbul before - Istanbul is a seething mass of stuff happening wherever you go - and we loved it - yes a large number of tourists even in September flocking to the big attractions - the palace the mosques the markets the ferries - but a fantastic experience - though maybe I had too much grilled meat! - we stayed at the ajwa sultanhamet - booked via BA holidays - a haven of tranquility yes - short walking distance to the main sights and to the tram - but not right in the heart of the tourist madness - turn right and right again out of the hotel and you’re in the shoe making district with real people doing real stuff - but close enough to restaurants as well and the sultanhamet sights and the big market. As I say - to retreat back here to a calm comfortable hotel at the end of a hectic day was what we needed. Its a dry hotel so if you want a drink you need to go outside. The hotel itself - modern I think maybe 2019 - but styled classically - room we had excellent - breakfast included on the top floor restaurant great also - truly a cosmopolitan spread and the views across the sea of marmaris and to the Asian side and a glimpse of the blue mosque are truly spectacular. Staff were all very very pleasant and helpful - and that’s not always the case in hotels - though people in general in Istanbul were friendly and helpful anyway. So as you can see we really enjoyed our stay - I’m not sure it’s the cheapest you can find but if I was going back to Istanbul any time soon I’d happily stay here again.

We had the most wonderful stay, I was there with family, with two elderly parents and navigating Istanbul with mobility impaired was a worry but the staff at the hotel helped make the entire stay effortless. The hotel team went above and beyond to support me and my family, whether it be organising safe pick up and drop off service around to the key sites, provide a wheelchair to support mobility during our stay or, organising our trips and handling any issues that arose with external tour providers professionally and quickly, without any disturbance to our stay or holiday. The extra effort provided was appreciated and made our stay in Istanbul, a great experience. Thank you to the whole team and we would happily stay again.

I am sorry for my delayed review but I was speechless after this stay. This stay was very nostalgic and unique. The hotel maintains Ottoman generosity and hospitality. The hotel is exceptionally furnished with mother-of-pearl furniture. It gives you the feeling of luxury and history at the same time. The staff is amazingly humble and dedicated. Halima and Ibrahim at the front desk, Volkan at the Concierge, Hakan Bey in Sales, and Ali Turk Bey General Manager, all these people were wonderful and Super Humane. Volkan and Ali Bey were able to arrange a tour for me to Bozdag Film Platolari, which is about an hour's drive from Istanbul. Ali Turk Bey was able to introduce us to Huseyn Bey, who is a Chef and the food and beverage director at the Bozdag Film Platolari. This was a dream come true for me and my husband. I have forgotten the name of our driver( sorry) but he was exceptional as well. The breakfast was very good and nourishing too. I have no words to express the feeling and my wish to go back. Thank you, Ajwa SultanAhment.

Located in the old city center means that you can walk to most of the site you want to see including the Grand Bazaar, Haga Sofia, The Blue Mosque and Topkopi Palace. The rooms are lovely and the food at the restaurant on the roof is excellent for both breakfast and dinner. The thing that sets this hotel apart is the amazing staff. From the desk at check in to housekeeping and severs in the restaurant everyone is helpful and friendly. The Concierge staff is where the Ajwa really shines. They cane up with the best places to eat, ways to get around, ideas for tours and more at the drop of a hat. With several of these folks having earned their crossed keys you now you rte in good hands. They made this trip for us! We'd go back there any day.
