Amazing Service

We had an incredible time! Yesika the chocolate girl and Lizi were the BEST! Very sweet, amazing service and always making sure we were having a good time. The entertainment team was also great! The sandwiches at the bbq next to the pool were the best food!

THIRD VISIT TO THIS HOTEL IN 2024

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I recently returned to Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda in Varadero the week of December 13th to the 20th. This was my third visit to this hotel in 2024, with the other two visits in June and July. The trip started great will with only a 3 hour Sunwing flight from Toronto to Varadero. However when we got to Varadero we were greeted by windy, cool weather and rain. It was around 20C when we arrived late Friday night. Unfortunately the weather was not great the first couple of days of our vacation. It continued to be windy, cool in the evenings, intermittent rain throughout the day, and they posted red flags on the beach due to the rough waters. On the third day, the weather improved and we had warm and sunny days for the rest of our stay. Temperature reached the high 20s. I stayed in building 19, which was close to the beach and the snack bar. Thank you Yessika (PR manager) for looking after my request. In my previous visits, I stayed in buildings 17 and 18. If you get a chance, any one of these 3 building is ideal to stay in. The room was fine with only one issue with the access card not working on the 3rd day. I went to reception and they immediately sent someone to fix the issue. I would like to thank all of the staff at reception for doing a great job. I would like to make special mention to Teibi, who is the Food and Beverage manager. Since he started in July, I noticed quite an improvement in the food in the restaurants and the bar service. During the lunch and dinner service, all 3 food stations were open to serve your needs, namely, Pork Grill, Fish Grill and Pasta station. This was not the case in June and July. The only minor shortage that happened was not having eggs for breakfast for one day. And in the a la carte restaurants service was quick and food was very good. Thank you to our servers in the buffet restaurant Yudi, Cynthia, Nayaris, Aida Rosa and JLo. Lunch during Cuban day was held at the Alameda. This was a great idea since the location is central and close to the pool area. There were a few new things in the resort during this trip with regards to the bar service. A new bar was built close to the beach so there are now 2 bars by the beach. They also opened the Rhum bar for service. So altogether, there were 6 bars operational as opposed to only 3 in June. Special mention to all the bartenders for doing a great job. Cosita was always there to entertain and made a pretty good entrance wearing a Pirate costume on the beach during one of the events. It was nice that they built a ramp to make access to the beach easier. As an observation, conditions in the beach are definitely better in June and July compared to December. As always Yudi's entertainment team was always present to keep the guests happy. Special mention to Yessica "chocolate", Lizi, Yunito, Tommy and Tony (DJs). One of the highlights of my trip was when Yudi took over the dance lessons on the beach. That was a lot of fun. The dance lessons in the morning on the beach and at 4pm by the pool area are always a lot fun. And with regards to the shows in the evening, the artists that peform at 8:30pm are always consistently good. Sharon stands out as being the best performer. During this trip, the saxophone player was great. During the 9:45pm show they had a rock band that was very good. This disco was hit or miss. There were only a couple of nights the disco was busy. I did not go on any excursions but the Hop on Hop off tourist bus ride was a lot of fun. You can see Varadero city, the Plaza America and other hotels for only $5 USD for a whole day pass. Altogether this was a great trip. There were no power outage issues during our stay. This was one last taste of the warm weather before the winter. Many thanks again to the Staff of the hotel for looking after the guests' needs.

Wonderful Vacation

I had a wonderful time staying at Iberostar Alameda Resort, Varadero, Cuba from Dec. 6 to Dec. 20, 2024! The management and staff were very friendly. The entertainment manager, Yudi and her team were great. Aidolys, guest service manager was working hard and open to new suggestions to improve the resort services. The Disco was running every night from 11 PM to 1 AM. I didn’t see any power outages at the resort, my room was clean and no shortage of food. The demographic of resort: European, Canadian and South American. I would definitely come back to this resort and recommend it to my friends.

Another wonderful Cuban vacation !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Our group of eight decided to go to Iberostar Playa Alameda, because we were looking for a small resort for adults. All of us have been in Cuba multiple times and totally love it. Beautiful beaches and lovely people keep bringing us back. We arrived around 10 pm and decided to go to 24 hours bar to get something to eat. They had a good hamburgers and hotdogs. They tasted better than the ones in Canada. All different kinds of wine included sparkling wine and other kind of drinks. People in lobby bar and 24 hours bar were very friendly. Rooms regular Cubans standard but always clean. Beautiful beach, food was great, friendly staff and great management always ready to help and open to suggestion. Thank you to David the manager, Jessica at customer service and the other staff to make our vacation perfect. People are working so hard to meet guests expectations. We had a great time and looking forward to go back in the future. There is no other place like Cuba, where everyone treats you like a family.
