The beach was amazing and clean, the service at the Royal was great. I like that everything was close, walking distance to the main lobby, family side, pool, beach, etc. We also had access to wifi, hot water and good water pressure. Our butler took care of our dinner reservation every night and came see us every morning to ask if we needed anything for the day. Clean beach towel everyday. The employees were welcoming, social and friendly. Easy communication since most of them spoke good english.

Travelled end of Jan 2025. This resort is huge with 3 separate areas for check in areas depending on what you choose. Normal, Reserve and Royal. Reserve area is non smoking....closest to kids club area. Royal is for Adults only, has outdoor showers, as well as a jacuzzi, double sink, king bed. It includes a private pool area that faces the ocean, small beach area, exclusive restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is premium liquor for Royal and also better service overall. You have access to everywhere in Royal. CURRENCY: When you go to Cuba, bring US dollars. This is all you need, don't convert it to CUC pesos. On the way to the resort, you may be offered on the bus to convert $1 Canadian for 120 pesos. The bank at the resort converts $1 Canadian for only 85 pesos. Seems like a good deal, but it's not needed as Cubans trade 300 pesos for $1 Canadian. In Cuba, they prefer US dollars and in the markets, government stores, airport, tips...all want US dollars. So if you convert, it's only good for tips, however if you get 120 for a dollar and they trade 300 for a dollar, it's not a good tip. $1 US is better. BEACH: By far this resort has the nicest beach that is protected by the peninsula, so if it is a windy day, it breaks the wind. The beach is wider and has amazing Palm trees everywhere. Amazing...nothing beats the beach here. FOOD: A la cartes were amazing. Japanese, Italian fantastic. Main buffet has amazing views of the beach and ocean but has issues with many birds flying in and getting at the food. They can improve here, as they have the facilities to make fresh customized pizzas but they make their own already. There is a couple of grills to make things fresh, like omelettes. Lots of fresh bread. Realistically, there are many things I wouldn't touch for food, but I don't go solely for the food...more for the beach and weather. RESORT: Really nice, lots of art, very large and beautiful. You will love this place. Nightly entertainment was great. Overall, things may happen that would drive an immediate negative reaction in Cuba, however, push through it and enjoy your vacation. There were no food shortages or power outages as there was plenty of food to choose from, and no disruption for power.

Beautiful resort. Beach was amazing. Resort was clean. Evening entertainment was good. Staff is friendly. Felt really safe here. Nothing bad to say about this place except for the food is just okay but we were prepared for that. We would definitely book again in the future!
