Hotel Grand Pacific

Though it is of course not luxurious, this hotel is wonderful. It’s very clean though some parts show obvious wear (for example, the carpet in our room could use updating or a thorough steam cleaning, and there was a bit of pink in the deep thick grooves in the caulking around the bathtub). The hotel staff are wonderful, very courteous and accommodating. In stark contract was the restaurant staff, whom we found a bit stand-offish (perhaps because we had children in our party?). The restaurant, Fathom, is quite nice, I highly recommend the happy hour 2-5pm. The swimming pool is large, but can and will get crowded and noisy (there are two lanes dedicated to laps, so don’t hesitate to go). The location is fantastic, the Parliament building and the BC Royal museum are within an easy 2-5 min walk. Highly recommend.

We travelled as two adults, a 3 year old and a baby and I cannot say enough positive things about this hotel. First, the location cannot be beat. You can walk anywhere you need to go, or take transit and a horse drawn carriage. Our room was not ready at check in so they provided us with a food voucher to use on site as well as providing us with an upgrade to a signature room with a harbour view. We requested a crib and a roll away bed, both of which were in our room within 5 minutes of us arriving. The room itself was spacious, clean and quiet. My toddler loved having a balcony and being able to watch the boats and planes in the harbour. The on site coffee shop was a nice touch. We did not eat in the restaurant but it looked great. All the employees we interacted with were so friendly and helpful. I happened to chat with the hotel manager at the coffee shop one morning and he was also super friendly and genuine. You can tell he cares about his hotel and staff. For those travelling with small kids the absolute best feature of this hotel is the pool. My kids spent hours in the water every day. There is a full size lap pool as well as a children’s pool. I will be back to this hotel for sure.

Hotel staff helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our meal at the restaurant on premises. The Gingerbread competition held at the hotel created a busy lobby, but was certainly fun to look at the entries. This hotel was so close to the ferry we took and close to the hop/on off bus and a food tour we took across the street. I enjoyed the pool and sauna as well. Great stay!

I called the day before we arrived and requested our two rooms be near each other on the same floor. During that call I received excellent customer service. On the day of our arrival we were greeted by the front desk and once again were pleased with the customer service. They were able to get us in early for check in. Our rooms were on the same floor and our view of the Empress hotel was incredible. Beds were comfortable and the room temperature was perfect. We will be back

Hotel was extremely beautiful and well appointed. Staff were professional and attentive. Door men offered umbrellas due to weather. Beds were comfortable with good selection of pillows. Bedding was high quality and clean. Coffee was great flavor and the view and location couldn't be beat. Unfortunately we were placed on the second floor above a conference room that was used for parties with loud dance music. It all stopped at 10 pm so wasn't a big issue. I loved this hotel. Would defiantly come and stay again.
