Pros: I'm an ALL platinum member and enjoy the Fairmont Fit program/gym. Angela the Royal Club operator was lovely, as were the front desk staff Opal and Kelli. I couldn't get the free Wifi with my ALL account to work but they quickly gave me a code to override the glitch. Non members have to pay $15 p/d for WiFi. Sidney in housekeeping is outstanding. Cons: I wanted a suite close to the elevator but there aren't any. The more spacious (500+ square ft) suites are further down the hall. The elevators and lobby are freezing in the Winter. It wouldn't hurt to put an overhead or space heater by the front doors. The courtyard is lovely but the firepits were not in use, which was a bit of a disappointment. Air France has a contract with The Fairmont so you might get stuck behind 20 or so AF employees during check-in, but the line moves quickly.

Adequate/underwhelming; not exceptional. The hotel is quite dated at this point. The staff we interacted with were pleasant, but the hotel feels understaffed and under managed. We can confirm other reviewers’ comments — strange WiFi requirements; no extra blankets in room; lack of high-end services. We’d sent multiple emails in advance of Christmas Day brunch to confirm our reservations. When we checked in they didn’t have the reservation. We had also expected the hotel to be more “decked out” for a Christmas stay. While there were some decorations, it hardly felt festive or warm. So: adequate, but not the high end experience I thought the Fairmont brand represented.

Overall liked this hotel. Really pretty lobby, nice Christmas decorations, really cool gingerbread house installation. Rates were really good over Christmas. Confirmed connecting rooms with no issue. Guestrooms spacious and comfortable, clean, well appointed (robes, slippers, coffee, Le Labo toiletries). Comfortable bed, good HVAC control, good blackout curtains. Housekeeping was good - we left notes asking for extra water and a working hair dryer and both requests were honored. Rooms were clean, shower had good pressure and nice hot water. My 2 areas for critique are Pool/Hot Tub and Breakfast Buffet. The pool/hot tub was one of our main drivers for booking this hotel and it was very underwhelming. It's part of an on-site fitness center and is very basic - the hot tub was warm but not hot. Water could have been clearer too. Having said all that my kids were fine with it. The breakfast buffet was just ok - no oatmeal, only strawberries - no other berry options. Bacon and sausage were on rotation but servers were happy to bring bacon with no extra charge on sausage days :) They also brought oatmeal as well which was nice. Overall just lacking anything special - no omelette station, no fresh waffles, no unique pastries, basic fruit. It was fine, just not 5-star. We did pay for rate that include breakfast and it overall a good value. I wouldn't pay the menu price of $38 however. The location was great for walking over to Georgetown and there were some things within walking distance - CVS, Smoothie/Acai bowl place, a couple of restaurants.

The Fairmont Washington DC Georgetown is the place to stay to enjoy the festive holiday decorations and activities. The courtyard is beautifully decorated with lights and a large Christmas tree. The lobby has one of the largest Gingerbread Houses that you can actually walk through and the kids can visit with Santa in either the Gingerbread House or in a special suite in the hotel at different times during the week. All of the staff provided wonderful service for guests having beverages and food in the lobby lounge or courtyard bar area. Recommend reserving a room overlooking the courtyard to enjoy the lights. The Gold Floor is also highly recommended for the excellent service, plus the morning breakfast and afternoon canapes in the lounge. The Fairmont Washington DC is an easy walk to Georgetown and a short taxi/Uber/Lyft ride to downtown museums and other attractions. We look forward to returning again.

Relatively poor experience. I’m an Accor gold and booked on an Amex Platinum rate. No review of amenities on check-in. No one else was in line. Room was ok. Toilet never stopped running. Called don’t desk asked for someone to fix-it. Never done. No turn-down service whatsoever. Came back late at night there was a mouse running through the lobby. No one beyond the bar-tender working for the hotel could be located though I didn’t look hard. Sunday brunch at Juniper was beyond unimpressive. Server was rude. The best thing about it was leaving.

The entire staff at the Fairmont made us feel welcome: the waiters in the breakfast room, the car park attendants, the housekeeper, the servers in the lobby restaurant, and the people at the front desk. We enjoyed all our meals there, the quiet room, and the readily available taxis. The location was great! We’d definitely stay there again with the Signature luxury perks; we enjoyed them all!
We’ll be watching for more hotels at our desired destinations to pop up again in the future….
Thank you for always promptly answering our emailed questions; so reassuring.

The hotel is lovely with very attentive staff. The lobby and outdoor Courtyard are very pretty, very pleasant places to relax after a full day of walking and sightseeing. The food and beverage credit made for a very tasty late evening dinner near the lobby bar. The hotel is highly recommended.
