Like the rainbow-hued houses in Curaçao's UNESCO World Heritage site capital, Baoase Luxury Resort embraces color in its five-star villas and rooms. Rich wood and jewel-toned accents make the transition from the king-sized bedroom to an airy patio surrounded by lush botanical gardens, creating a sense of peaceful continuity.

We had stayed in a villa with another couple of. (106). It had an outdoor shower which was lovely. The decorum was amazing there as well. The website and pics do not do it justice. It is much nicer. We elected to do the food drink package for convenience. The staff totally spoils you with kindness and personality as well. The manager France was always available for questions, our dinner server Kedisiah was soooo friendly and conversational with us. We still miss her!!! One of us caught a 24 hour bug and the chef had made him an unbelievable chicken soup so he would feel better. . A security guard also escorted me one evening to get medication so I would have no issues. Breakfast was amazing as well. Fresh fruit juices, home made yogurt, omelets, salmon, even the coffee was amazing. All tables are outside just a stones throw from the ocean. There were plenty of shaded chairs with cute iguanas walking around. It is a smaller family owned place that surprisingly surpassed the Marriott nearby. We had a Bloody Mary and they used fresh spices and juices. Delicious!! Highly recommend

Just an unbelievable experience. From the moment the doors open and you are greeted by the staff, every second of our Baoase stay was simply exceptional. The accommodations are spacious and well planned, the staff is attentive and incredibly friendly, the food is exceptional, and the overall service and vibe of the resort is just unparalleled. Highly recommend.

Very intimate and beautiful surroundings. The staff is wonderful. Kadeshia was our hands down favorite. They have an island, Badia, that has excellent viewing for sunsets. This resort is truly a special experience. I will definitely be back.

Awful experience for us with Baoase... don't trust Baoase with any meaningful trips. If something goes wrong, even if it's their fault, Baoase will leave you out in the cold. TL;DR, Baoase overbooked us on an important and personally meaningful trip, then offered us nothing to compensate for what happened or our additional costs. I couldn't believe this was the hotel everyone raved about. Details: the Baoase website was super glitchy, so we booked through the Chase Reserve concierge instead. After we'd booked our flights, arranged childcare and booked those flights, the hotel told us they'd overbooked our $1,300/night Honeymoon suite and offered to put us in a Loft Room (huge downgrade) and give us the difference in price as a resort credit. When we tried to get Chase involved, they offered us an additional $200 resort credit to compensate but gave us the runaround, saying "it's not our fault". This was a very personally meaningful trip to us, so we said we'd prefer to rebook to different dates. The hotel responded that in that case, they accepted absolutely no responsibility for the overbooking (which I hardly believe given our ill-fated attempts to book through Baoase) and they would offer us absolutely nothing, even though we would incur fees to change our flights, childcare flights, and go through the ringer to move this trip. I had been so excited to visit Baoase, and I wish I'd listened more to reviews saying that they can be stingy and overcharge. The magic is completely gone from this resort. Given how much they pride themselves on guest experience, to leave us out in the cold with no choices but to either take a huge downgrade in room or incur lots of additional costs to rebook with no compensation feels awful.

Pros: 1. Food was delicious, fresh, and highly nutritious. Broad selection of proteins and lots of fresh fruit/vegetables. A piece of fresh fruit was also delivered to the room each day. 2. The fitness center was exceptional. Lots of free weights, squat racks, rower, ski erg, kettle bells, dumbbells up to 40kg, pull-up bar, treadmill, and stationary bike. Staff at the fitness center was also extremely welcoming and nice. 3. The beach was private and consists of a inlet with multiple exits around a small island that go out to the open ocean. You can borrow snorkeling equipment from the resort. The area around the central island in the beach has a beautiful reef with lots of fish to look at (you need to go on to the open ocean side to see the reef) 4. The room was beautiful. The outdoor garden area attached to our "superior beach front suite" was our favorite part. 5. Staff was helpful in arranging diving adventures Cons: 1. The service was average at best. If you are used to being anywhere where staff makes you feel "special" or goes out of their way to make you feel pampered, this resort will leave you feeling disappointed. While the other resorts we have stayed at in the past (Jamacia, St. Lucia, Maldives) assigned us a dedicated "butler" or staff member who would often arrange fun things such as a bubble bath, fresh flowers, a sweet treat, or even just coming to check to see how the stay is going, this was not the case here. You are given a Whatsapp number you can text if you want something arranged/a drink etc. They are responsive to texts. However, we never experienced any unsolicited efforts to make our stay more special. This may also just be cultural/customary to Curaçao. Additionally, when we ordered breakfast or lunch to the room, without exception, the food arrived 10-30 minutes late and was frequently cold by the time it arrived. The orders were also almost universally missing an item. At the beach there are buttons you can hit if you would like to order a drink or a snack. However, we often had to push the button 2-3 times and wait 20-30 minutes before a staff member would come. 2. The wifi is extremely slow to the point of being unusable. If you are planning to make video calls to family I recommend that you plan to pay for a international SIM card or use your carrier's international plan while you are here. 3. Baoase is not a secluded resort. It is nestled right in a neighborhood/community. This means you will occasionally hear traffic/city noise, soccer games, etc. The only time this became a true issue was at night. On two occasions during our stay the beach adjacent to the resort held a party/rave with loud music/booming bass until 2am in the morning. The resort does provide you ear plugs but the level of noise made these minimally effective. 4. The staff around the resort is not terribly warm/welcoming. They generally do not say hello/greet you or say anything as you walk past. They also do not make any effort to know your name or where you are staying. Again, this may simply be cultural or a possible language barrier but is distinctly different from all other resorts to which we have been.
