We had a great 4 days at the Lodge. Ate dinner at Alpine Hall--did not love the menu overall, but the food we had (pumpkin curry soup and calamari) were great. The Alpine Hall breakfast buffet was excellent (particularly the omelet station/chef) and we had that every morning. Also enjoyed Pico Taco for dinner. Ski access is great, the ski village is fun, and everything is very smooth and easy using the Lodge as the base for skiing at Stowe. The room at the Lodge was great but they should provide a humidifier.

Best ski resort I’ve ever been to! Food was incredible, hotel was luxurious and beautiful, spa was deeply relaxing, staff were so kind and helpful. Couldn’t be in a better location. The ski valet is very convenient. Planning on making this an annual trip!

Everyone was exceptional the only issue I had were the pillows or too high .. I tell my whole family and everyone that this is the place they need to go. The only other thing I would ask for is a conveyor belt to go up-and-down the mountain for tubing.

This review is from a few night stay for a family ski trip in February 2025. We thought that the location and room were wonderful and we would absolutely stay there again! I am not sure why there are reviews that complain about the ski in/ski out aspect. I have stayed at many ski locations in the US from budget to slope side accommodations ..and the Lodge at Spruce Peak was on of the best! Pros: -We were in room 1409 which was a 2 bedroom suite. It was gorgeous- clean- and there was plenty of room. Two bedrooms with kind beds, a sleeper sofa, a full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The views of the mountain were amazing from this room and there was a massive wraparound balcony. I would certainly request this room again. And I used Hyatt points for the room, which made it an incredible value for us. -Using a Hyatt Guest Of Honor certificate gave us amazing extras like free valet parking, free breakfast, bottled water, chocolates, and a room upgrade. -The car valet was extremely convienient with the text feature -The ski valet situation was AWESOME. Your skis and boards are waiting for you in the morning and you just leave them on the rack when you leave. We wore our boots down to the ski valet area but you can wear shoes and leave them there. -Location. You can walk out the back and go to the short gondola ride over to the main base to pick up the main gondola or lifts up to the top of Mansfield. Or you can walk over (5 minutes max) to the Spruce Peak lifts and ski/ride those areas. -Entire hotel is clean and even though it appeared at capacity the first night, they did a great job managing the crowd and flow. -My kids liked the game room with free pool and also the outdoor heated swimming pool and hot tub were fun. A little too crowded for my taste (the hot tubs)- and the main pool wasn't warm enough for me....but it was literally -5 degrees out and I think that there is nothing the hotel can do to heat a massive outdoor pool in those conditions! LOL -There are shops and places to eat in Spruce Village and I heard that it's easy to get get to Stowe Village as well. There are a lot of places to hike and things to see in the area. -Every single person I encountered on staff there were lovely. Cons: -The only one is that the food wasn't great. We tried a few of the restaurants and the taco place in the Village. Not terrible, but I did expect better on that avenue. -Service was also pretty slow in the restaurants. Nice, but slow. But I think that is because they were at capacity.

This was our second winter stay at Spruce Peak. We introduced our 4-year old granddaughter to skiing here last week, just as we did with our then-4-year old grandson three years ago. All aspects of our stay were beyond excellent - service, room accommodations, dining, and ski school. (Note - based on two stays here, I think most of the negative reviews come from those with (i) unreasonably high expectations, and (ii) those who try to experience a 5-star stay during the busiest of times - winter weekends and holiday weeks. I suspect the resort can't quite achieve 5-star status when they are slammed. During regular weeks, it's a smooth and near-perfect operation.) What we love: efficient car valet / bellman service, remodeled rooms including new furniture and flooring, along with spotless cleanliness and a cheerful housekeeping staff, and the unadvertised fact that Alpine Hall (one of two in-hotel dining spots) now has a well-curated Children's Menu -our granddaughter absolutely loved the Bento Box-style meal. We also enjoyed the heated outdoor pool in zero degree weather (don't forget your hat), and the charming and modern lobby with a roaring fire and delicious hot chocolate from the lobby bar. The adjacent Stowe Ski School is second-to-none. Regardless of your skiing level, they will take excellent care of you. They seem to go out of their way to make brand new skiers feel welcome and confident. That gives me confidence to go ski for the day, knowing that when I pick the little one up after ski school, she'll be smiling and ready to return the next morning. And, you just can't beat the boot-up room just off the lobby including the courtesy ski storage service and instant proximate access to the Gondola and multiple Chair Lifts. We used Hyatt points again for this three night stay. Points or dollars, Spruce Peak is very expensive, and no, we can't afford it quite every year, but I guarantee we'll be back in a couple of years for an entire family ski vacation. Highly, highly recommended.
