Guana Island

Pristine perfect and stunning with an exceptional staff offering outstanding service and attention to detail. The chef is magnificent! The beach is practically empty except for the sprinkling of hotel guests. There is no piped in music, no tekevisions, just quiet island sounds of sea and wind. Cottages clean but furnishings could use an update. I would definitely return but get a cottage with a pool. There is no property pool and not all of the cottages have one. There are 7 beaches but you can only access 6 of them by hiking. However, the accessible by golf cart beach is beautiful enough that you really don’t need to go anywhere else.

I had to go find out for myself how this place could be so highly and consistenly rated as a 5 star retreat??...well its all true and I am a little upset with myself that it took me this long to discover. For many years we stayed all over the USVI and BVI. After the storms in 2017 we felt lost...bounced around to a few resorts that seemed cold and indifferent. I am happy to report that we have found a home in the islands again! Beginning with Jason booking our stay, then unwinding due to a medical emergency, and later rebooking us with such positive energy and encouragement! The is like stepping out of the real world with all the busy, non-stop noise and landing in an idyllic paradise where time has stopped. Everything becomes effortless and every request is answered with a smile and , "of course we can do that". 54 staff and they all seem so happy in their work and eager to make you comfortable. I can go on and on about how I have fallen in love with this island, the resort and the people. It is real, it is magical and it is unparalleled for an environment where you can leave all of your worries behind and just be....Move this up to top 3 on your bucket list, but you better not be in my room when I come back :)

This place is THE real deal equation of beauty and the beach. It is exclusive and charming, both the setting, the grounds, and the people who work there. We brought our two teenage daughters. My husband and I enjoyed hiking while they relaxed at the beach. We also enjoyed the activities offered like snorkeling, standup paddle boarding, and the diving platform. Most of all we loved the staff who make this place operate seamlessly and who were able to accommodate special situations like a visit to the doctor. Truly, our stay was everything we had hoped for and more. We couldn't be more grateful to the people who are managing this place as well as the vision of its owner.

For those of us in the world who love nature, love the sounds of nature and enjoy endless, open expanses of pale-aqua water beaches almost completely devoid of other humans, Guana is heaven. This is not a place for people who need wild nightlife (unless that means gazing at the stars), loud music, and crowded beaches. The staff is gracious, warm, generous and delighted to assist with any detail.

Guana is the most beautiful beach resort we have ever visited! The beach is wonderful, the number of guests is very small, and the staff is super-attentive. This place is a true hidden gem! They also have incredible meals, cocktails and wine.
