We have been to Tres Rios as owners 14 times. We love the staff and tesort. We are pool people which is good because the beach is awful. Recently Kimpton has taken over the resort and has increased the All Inclusive prices to owners 80-500%. Their strategy is obvious. Price out the people who paid for memberships to create Kimpton availability. The ownership should be investigated for what they are doing.

Bought here in 2009 before it even opened- We go 2 times a year, know the wait, staff, the butlers and most of the employees. They know us by name. Love everything about this place. Recently Kimpton took partnership with Tres Rios and the timeshare owners are getting the run around about pricing. I myself have gotten 3 different prices from 3 different Customer Service reps- we are on FB as a group trying to find out what's going on- with no clear response. Everyone that calls get different answers, I was quoted 1697.00 per person per day for all inclusive, and maintenance fee is going from 1250.00 to 2000.00. Kinpton,Tres Rios. Suset group need to deliver clear communication to its members. Most of use have paid hefty amounts for these properties. they are being bought back from the company, we can't sell them. We are in the twilight zone with this place.

This used to be an amazing place to stay. Even with renovations ongoing it wasn’t too bad. That being said, I would avoid this place going forward. The Kimpton/IHG takeover of the resort has resulted in extreme price increases. Literally increases of the equivalent of a ten fold increase. Stays have become unaffordable. They won’t have a conversation with the current members. We have been members since the opening of the resort. They simply don’t care about those of us who have invested thousands of dollars to become members and upgrade those memberships. We can’t get any sort of reasonable communication and there is no transparency. Find another resort to spend your vacation and your money. It’s appalling they have no care for those who put them on the map. The staff is great and none of this is their fault. Its ownership.

An eco-friendly resort where the staff becomes your family is what “Hacienda” Tres Rios is! We are a military family with numerous combat deployments around the world. “Hacienda” Tres Rios is the first place we have felt truly safe and truly want to go back to every year. Not only is the resort beautiful and food great- but the staff is amazing! They truly want you to enjoy your time there and always make you feel like part of the family. Time will tell if “Kimpton” Tres Rios maintains the “Hacienda” tradition.

Come for the location and passion fruit Mezcalinas, not for the food and entertainment. Hotel was lonely (could have been the time of the year), food was less than desirable.

My wife and I took the four-night package in August and really got our money's worth! The service from the entire staff was phenomenal. The nature activities, including biking and kayaking through the terrain and rivers, are not to be missed. The beach was beautiful. The complimentary wind surfing boat ride was very special. The quality and quantity of food available was amazing and I am a NYC food snob! And the top shelf liquor was always available! I could go on... Visit this property!!
