Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

We brought our family for one week as a Christmas gift. There were 23 of us, 11 adults and 12 children aged 10-1. Everyone was very kind and helpful to us especially the concierge, Vidal, and Jessica. There were activities for everyone and the food was delicious!

I loved the vacation. beautiful hotel with great pools and the food was amazing. it was a family resort so expect kids running around. The beach was cleaned every morning of seaweed. the downfall was there wasn't much shade and people were saving recliners at 730 am. a bit crazy. but that's all minor compared to the amazing hotel and lovely staff and restful time we had. We would easily recommend this hotel!!!

I didn't feel that this resort was worth the cost. Mediocre food. Not a large amount and variety of activities on the schedule. The pool side buffet was good when it was on but there were long lines. Long lines for restaurants. Hard to find shade by the pool.

This is one of the most beautiful resorts Ive been to. The quality, services, and attention to the customer experience is immaculate. However the food is catered to White Americans. It lacks flavor and spice. Ive had more flavorful & spicier food in the U.S. than there. Most of the food there you can eat in the U.S. They have one Restaurant that’s allegedly Mexican cuisine (El Patio) and it tasted like cardboard. It’s sad to see that even in Mexico we are gentrified. Oceana was the only restaurant they had that come close to the spice & flavor I was seeking.

Went to Dreams over the holiday break with my three children and in-laws, and had a wonderful time! The FOOD and SERVICE at this particular hotel was especially impressive. We were served champagne at check in, and they had cookies for the kids along with offering any non alcoholic drink they desired. Speaking of SERVICE, I appreciated that all of the staff greeted you around the resort with a smile and knew how to speak English relatively well. They had the same hostess working the buffet each evening, and every time I asked for a to-go plate she smiled and obliged. They always seemed to want to accommodate the guest's requests everywhere, and not only were kind to the paying adults but also were equally kind to the kids. My favorite service experience was with a woman named Giovanna who taught the water aerobics one of the days we were there; her energy and smile were amazing, and she played the best sing along music during her class while we were working out. I wish I had Giovanna on the other days but they rotate their instructors (I do wish the other instructors stuck to more fun singing dancing music versus harder dance moves that didn't seem to be suited for a water aerobics class). Even the servers at the swim up bar were so accommodating and were happy to make non alcoholic fun beverages for my kids. I only had one service issue when I was there and that was with getting towels at the pool; they seemed to run out of them very frequently and one time I asked for more, they told me to come back in 30 minutes...I did and they still didn't have any and the same guy told me come back again in 30 minutes (I told him he just said that and he argued with me about it for a few minutes....my recommendation to the hotel is buy more towels so you don't run out). We do love that they had room service 24/7 and the food did come to the room warm, which was great. The FOOD far exceeded our expectations for an all inclusive resort! Every single day we were blown away by the food they grilled by the pool! The resort goes out of its way in this respect. We ate some of the best grilled chicken of our lives pool side! Their burgers also were very high quality and thick and excellent (we went to another Dreams resort over the summer in another part of Mexico and the food quality by the pool was horrible, so this really was a very pleasant and welcome surprise!). The fish was very fresh and I ate the fish tacos at the pool grill almost daily they were so good, along with the fact that this hotel serves the best guacamole in Mexico! My kids also really loved and appreciated that at the buffet, on the breakfast menu they always had delicious pancakes and French toast, and two omelette stations, and on the dinner menu they had the most delicious sushi with a chef who actually knows how to make proper rolls! (thank you to the resort for having this as it's a real treat and definitely a reason we would come back). We also love that there were activities every single hour, from morning through evening. They had a huge movie screen for kids movies every night and served popcorn. They have a kids drop off area AND they have a game room next to a basketball court. My only recommendation is to let kids 10 or over go into the game room without a parent needing to supervise, as there is no where a parent can comfortably sit down and have their cocktail while the kid plays the games. They also provide basketballs for the pool for kids to play with, and had a really fun slide area for younger kids. The beach is beautiful and there are a ton of chairs by the beach to sit on, along with a bar to order drinks from. And lots and lots of friendly staff always offering to help or get you something! We will definitely go back!
