Reviews for The Charleston Place

Came for a conference, left with and education

Centrally located to all that Charleston has to offer, this hotel is top shelf. The staff is very conscious. The rooms are amply sized and the chamber maids pay attention to detail. Step off the property and there are countless good restaurant choices to please any palate. We’d come back here again.

Shout out to Roosevelt

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

We like to stay at The Charleston Place when in Charleston. We were there for two nights for my husband to have some elective surgery. When we came into the hotel we were greeted with a warm smile and hello by a very engaging gentleman by the name of Roosevelt, we were fortunate enough to have him bring our luggage to our room where we had a chance to get to know him We grills him why were there and he offered his assistance for anything we needed. The next morning I saw him And told him I may need a wheelchair when I brought my husband back from surgery. He was delighted to help. When I left to pick him up I saw Roosevelt and he informed me he was getting off soon. When I got back to The hotel I thought Roosevelt was gone! When I got to the valet the young man looked mortified when he saw my husband. He was drunk as a coot and out of it from anesthesia. I asked him to get Roosevelt if he was there. And he was. He got my jello husband out of the car put him in the wheelchair and got us to the room. Then he literally had to put my husband in the bed, which was not pretty either. Roosevelt told me He would be back to work the next day and we made arrangements for him to help us leave. Everyone on the club level was wonderful also, they would bring me something when I couldn’t leave the room, if I needed it! Luckily, the next day when we were getting ready to leave my husband was fine and could walk. Roosevelt helped us out and my husband and I thanked him. He really made our stay feel special! I don’t know what we would have done without him!

Wonderful Property - Mangers Care about Guests & Reviews

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We recently stayed at The Charleston Place and loved the beautiful property, our comfortable room, and the excellent amenities. Room service drinks were delightful, and the service at the onsite Market bar was exceptional. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by some inappropriate interactions with staff that made us feel unwelcome and judged. While many team members were wonderful, these moments detracted from what could have been an otherwise perfect stay. UPADTE: The wonderful leadership team at the hotel reached out to us and rectified the issue. They heard our concerns in good faith and made sure to take care of our team. Thank you, Chelsea!

The most wonderful, welcoming hotel experience

I had the most wonderful few days at the Charleston Place. Every single person working there was kind, courteous, and friendly. Diane, who works at the front desk, was especially welcoming and helpful. After staying at the Charleston Place, it's clear why the South is known for its hospitality. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Pleasant stay with very hospitable staff.

Very service-minded and pleasant staff made the stay at Charleston Place truly enjoyable. The hall of the hotel is impressive. The decor within the rooms as would be expected for a hotel of this price. But some of the utilities within the rooms require and update (issues with fridge and air-conditioning during our stay). We would consider using Charleston Place again if (when) we visit the beautiful town of Charleston again.

I traveled with my family (husband, and two children ages 2 and 4) on a Luxury Link auction package to Charleston Place in August. True good service is making travel effortless for the visitor, and Charleston Place delivered. There was no problem in bringing our children. We arrived about an hour before official check-in, but our room was ready and keys were given. Concierge had pre-printed directions to many of the sites. Finally, our Luxury Link credits for spa and dinner was automatically applied at check-out, so the check-out sheet that I received the morning of departure already had the correct amount that needed to be charged. Effortless! The Club floor included an expanded continental buffet breakfast, as well as drinks and finger foods throughout most of the day. This was very convenient and the breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were particularly extensive. What makes Charleston Place stand out from myriad other places to stay in Charleston - many more historic or quaint or intimate - is the amenities offered. The pool with surrounding deck and kiddie pool is a very pleasant spot. The spa treatments were wonderful and very professional. Dinner at Charleston Grill was our favorite meal of the trip. The flavors were complex and fresh - this is not your typical fried and heavy Southern cuisine. I can see Charleston Place appealing to business travelers, couples needing pampering, families with older children, and yes, families with young children. All in all, a service-oriented hotel in a wonderful location with superior amenities and appealing to many different types of travelers.
