137 Pillars House

My wife and I had THE best experience at 137 Pillars House, Chiang Mai. Went for 4 days and couldn't have asked for a better time. The rooms, the staff, the arrangements, the breakfast - everything was absolutely top level. Would especially like to mention Toto, our butler - one of the nicest people we've ever come across. He was always available - on call and in person - and would help us out at the drop of a hat. Whether it was a specific item we were searching for or a restaurant with a very specific cuisine in mind, Toto was like our own little fairy godmother! The rest of the staff - Big, Tuck, and Mint were also super helpful in case Toto wasn't around. Always available with smile and never let us feel inconvenienced for even a second. And of course, Anne - we met her on the first day when we were checking in. She came to welcome us with the sweetest smile, and we truly felt we were home. :) Would definitely come back to 137 Pillars House, JUST for these people and their warmth. A big thank you to each and every one at 137 Pillars House! :D

The rooms were nicely appointed, highlight being the bathrooms with outdoor showers. Our couple of highlights were our awesome butler, Ray. He was so attentive via whatsap. Also, we loved to end the day at the hotel bar. Very cool vibe and great drinks. Breakfast was great too. Overall, we really enjoyed Pillars, however Chiang Mai was not our fav spot in Thailand.

Wonderful hotel, amazing staff, great location, and more. As a Travel Advisor myself, I've had the pleasure of staying at a lot of amazing hotels in my life and 137 Pillars truly is an exceptional hotel. The rooms are beautiful as are the common spaces, and the location is perfect, but what makes this property really special is the staff. Toto, who was our butler during our stay really went above and beyond to help me with a few things I needed on the fly, he is great as are all of the other staff we encountered.

Honestly, I have only positive things to say about this excellent hotel. Beautiful architecture and grounds, very clean and well-kept, very large and comfortable rooms. The staff is outstanding and quite attentive. Our butler, Toto, was too-notch. The gym was quite functional and well-kept. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times, the Thai food was excellent, the “continental “ side of the menu needs some work. The pool was quite beautiful but cold. Overall, a great hotel and we would definitely return. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend 137 Pillars House in Chiang Mai highly enough. The grounds are all done in a gorgeous colonial architecture style using tons of teak would and ornate tiling. The main house (the one with 137 pillars) feels like it came out of the Ritz-Carlton jungle book ride. Maybe I'm just a sucker for this architectural and design style, but I could not stop taking photos of everything inside. The Jack Bain Bar and the Library are highlights for sure. I loved reading with a cocktail or 3 in the bar. Really peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are fantastic. Huge private patio with couch and cool teak rocking chair. Beautiful blue and white tile floor for the patio. Gigantic bathroom with gorgeous tub which opens to an outside shower. Pool is great. Feels olympic size in length infinity pool. Being in the city there really aren't any views to be had at the pool, but they have built this giant ivy wall on one side that is neat, and there is a gorgeous flame tree with pink flowers at one end. On that note the landscaping is a real highlight of the beautiful grounds! Most of all the service and hospitality at 137 Pillars is as elite as place I have stayed. 24 hours a day whatever you need is at your fingertips. Feels like there are 3 staff to every guest. Our host, Toto, and the restaurant supervisor, Up, were standouts for sure. Toto helped us with every arrangement (tuk-tuks, meals, tickets to shows, tours) and Up made our dining experiences exceptional! Highly recommend the private dining on your patio option. If you are in ChiangMai consider 137 Pillars House first!
