Hospitality at its Best!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

Upon checking in we were greeted by such friendly and professional staff. Andrea was so helpful in accommodating our needs. We stayed in The Penthouse Suite. It had such a rustic feel to it, clean and comfortable. Although the carpets could use an update they were none the less clean. Every staff member that we met went above and beyond. The pool is older but clean, with plenty of comfortable lounge chairs. The Plumpjack Cafe was a great dining experience for both lunch and dinner. The bar is a great place to have a cocktail before dinner. We cannot wait to return. Special thanks to Jeff who knows the meaning of hospitality, also Blair and Elena at the bar, Emma the hostess at the restaurant and the wait staff Alicia and Haley!

Listen to the Prior Reviewers: Stay Away

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

I am not a complainer (look at my prior reviews for proof). But..... CONS: Odor-Halls/rooms have strong, sharp ODOR of mold/mildew (previous reviewers are correct). No exaggeration. DANGEROUS, especially for anyone with respiratory issues/young children. Front desk manager-truly rudest hotel employee I, or anyone in my family, have ever encountered. Ever Encountered. Like ever. No elevator for bags-zero offer of help from front desk, as they watched us. Really no big deal, however just a weird blasé employee attitude. Housekeeping-erratic, do not clean glassware, do not refill soap and we returned to our suite door unlocked & door AJAR. I kid you not. Dated-not rustic, just in disrepair, dank & smelly. Prior reviewers are correct. Keycards-we had to have them reprogrammed daily. Their explanation: “We know, just come back again tomorrow”. PROS: Location-especially if you are a skier/snowboarder. Really good restaurant-if you want only dinner Wed-Sun. No breakfast. Pool-small, but pretty. Parking-ample and free!

Nice accomodations and great rental shop

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

The room and amenities were great! Their ski rental shop was top notch and the best service I've had. I was in and out in about 10 minutes and the guys were very knowledgeable. I would definitely stay here again. Easy access to the slopes as well ass dining and shopping.

Bad Odors….Old!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 months ago

My first room smelled like a wet German Sheppard that urinated on the old carpet. The front desk gent was kind enough to attempt to find a room that smelled better. He went to the second room by himself, came back and said, “Not much better.” He then took me to a 3rd room let me walk in to see how it smelled. This room smelled like the same wet German Sheppard, but minus the urine smell… I asked if any rooms were not pet friendly and possibly smelled better. He said that he was afraid not, but that all of the rooms are thoroughly cleaned. Some odors just don’t come out of the paint and carpet I guess. Highly recommend brining scented candles!!! This place is seriously in need of an update and, at least, some non-pet friendly rooms!!

Good but old

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed September 13, 2023

It’s all about expectations. Location can’t be beat if you are skiing Palisades. Right next to the funicular. But it is OLD and outdated. Hallways feel like an old college dorm. Rooms are outdated. Hotel is kept up well for what it is, but desperately needs an update.
